Chapter 12

While Kakashi was walking in the back Sakura with Tazuna, Naruto and Sasuke were leading as they talked in hushed tones.

"So... my wind should be able to fuel your fire... yeah... and also guiding will be easy. Yeah, this should work."

"I could use my Sharingan to be more precise and co-ordinate with you more..."

"And then we could..." Naruto stopped as he noticed a water puddle, which was emanating chakra.

'Huh?'

'The last time it rained was a week ago...'

'I see, shinobi...'

Kakashi looked at his students and noticed that their guard was already up.

"I see you noticed. I'll just watch," said Kakashi as two people burst out of the puddle to attack him.

However, before their attacks could connect, Kakashi had disappeared and the shinobi were met with punches from Naruto and Sasuke in their faces.

The next moment Naruto threw a shuriken pinning their chained weapons to the tree, while Sasuke threw a kunai to further secure the Shuriken on a tree.

Then Sasuke proceeded to swipe them off their feet while Naruto split-kicked them in the heads throwing them away and breaking their chains in the process.

"Tch! These kids are good," said Gozu as he ran towards Naruto, who stood defensively.

"But NOT REALLY SMART!" he yelled as he diverted his attack at the last moment towards Sakura and Tazuna. He failed to notice that Naruto was smirking. Before he could make contact, a Kunai had embedded itself in his temple.

Sasuke stood with his eyes wide open, having killed his first time. As for Naruto, he became serious as he saw blood spurt out of Gozu's head onto Sakura, traumatizing her.

"BOTH OF YOU! CALM DOWN!" yelled Naruto as he engaged Meizu in hand-to-hand.

'Look for an opening... NOW!' he thought as he put a seal onto Meizu's stomach as soon as he found an opening, effectively paralyzing him.

"Good work Naruto and Sasuke. And now, all three, calm down for a moment," Kakashi said, appearing in front of them as he put his hand on Sasuke and Sakura's shoulder.

"Now, I know this is traumatizing to see, and especially for you Sasuke, but remember that this is a common scene for us Shinobi. Most of the missions end up with either comrades or enemies dying. The fact that this disturbs you means that you're no psychopath," said Kakashi as he then turned to Naruto who was glaring at Meizu, who still looked shocked.

"Naruto, are you fine?"

"Yes, I got over my first kill way before during the errands I did for Jiji," he said and Kakashi nodded in understanding.

"Now as I was sa- WHAT THE HELL NARUTO!" yelled Kakashi as Naruto stabbed his hand.

"Chakra eating poison. His weapon was laced with it. Now due to my condition, my body would eventually flush it out, but I'd rather not be low on Chakra," explained Naruto as he flicked his wrist and a roll of bandage came out.

'What the hell is he...' was the thought shared by the Jonin and the two genin, Kakashi staring at him impressed, Sasuke with a small smile and Sakura mainly shocked.

"Now, would you like to tell me why one of the demon brothers is after you, Tazuna?"

Right now Team 7 and Tazuna were on a boat to the Wave. After discussing the lie Tazuna had told them and then Naruto and Sasuke convincing Kakashi to accept the mission, they were finally resting.

"Be sure to keep the weapons in an accessible place, and rest well. We cannot afford to slack off when we reach there.

Naruto, Kakashi and Sasuke knew that a run-in with Zabuza would be inevitable. What they were contemplating was the timing.

Sakura saw that Naruto had his eyes closed and was sitting as if meditating.

---Inside Naruto's mindscape---

"Ah, you're back," grumbled an angry orange fox, which had 9 giant tails waving behind him.

"Sup," said Naruto with a smile as the fox just grumbled.

"What are you here for brat?" 

"Uh... advice..." he said as the fox sighed angrily.

"AND WHY SHOULD I GIVE YOU ADVICE?"

"... Please?"

"..."

"..."

"WHAT IS IT?"

"Uh... I need to understand what our chances against Zabuza are," he said as the fox thought for a moment.

"Against Zabuza, you have 60-40 to yourself. If it was just Kakashi vs Zabuza, it would be more towards Zabuza, almost 50-50, but to fight while protecting the Bridge builder, it's a huge liability."

"... Oh..."

"However, if you use your seal knowledge well, it might tilt stuff more into your favor."

"Thanks, Kyubi."

"DON'T THINK I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU! I AM JUST BORED YOU DUCKING BRAT!"

"And still you censor your swears, give me good advice, and talk to me. Now all that's left is for you to give me your name, and we might just be the best of friends," said Naruto with a giant smile.

---Flashback---

It was Naruto's 10th birthday. And today was the day he decided to confront his inner demons. Quiet literally. 

"Okay brat, I want you to sit QUIETLY and focus on the seal on your stomach. That'll probably connect you to him. Though remember, once connected, he can at any point say things to you. Are you sure about this?" asked Anko, who was supervising this process.

"YES SENSEI!" he said as Anko just chuckled.

"Go on. And I hope you can do what you told me you wanted to."

When Naruto did what he was told, he suddenly felt wet and opened his eyes, only to see a giant sewer with a cage in front of him.

"So the jailer is finally here..."

"Kyubi?"

Naruto's question was answered as long nails tried to impale him through the cage the very next second.

"I've had jailers try to come and get my powers, but no one this soon!" he yelled angrily as Naruto backed off, scared. 

Naruto took a moment to regain his composure and then looked at the cage, with unwavering determination in his eyes.

"I am not here to take your powers. I swear I won't take your powers unless you yourself allow me to," said Naruto, shocking the tailed beast.

"OH YEAH? THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE BRAT?"

"It's very simple, I want to talk."
