Chapter 14

Sakura was about to yell at him for cracking a joke when Naruto yelled activate. Not having time to think, she did as she was told and a barrier immediately sprung up. Lucky for them, it was just as Zabuza had put his foot between them, getting split in half by the barrier.

"Huh?"

"It's a medium-powered barrier seal. Should keep us safe," Naruto said as the 'Zabuza' burst into water.

"Hmm, must say, you are extremely good for a genin. I need time or a powerful jutsu to deal with that barrier, which is not an option as long as Kakashi of Sharingan is here. So I must deal with him first."

What followed was Zabuza once again disappearing and reappearing behind Kakashi, who swung his fist where he had appeared only for Zabuza to duck and slice him apart.

"KAKASHI SENSEI!" yelled Sakura scared, but was relieved as the next moment he too burst into water revealing himself to be a water clone.

As the real Kakashi put his kunai at Zabuza's neck saying 'Game over', the Zabuza simply chuckled and impaled its neck on the kunai, revealing it to be yet another clone.

"Hah, so you are like your rumours say. No issues, you'll still die here," Zabuza said from the mist, then appearing behind Kakashi.

"Sasuke, use Sharingan to read his moves," muttered Naruto as Sasuke did as told and looked as Zabuza and Kakashi engaged in hand-to-hand combat.

"Tch. From the looks of it, both sensei and Zabuza are evenly matched, but Zabuza seems to be plotting something," Sasuke muttered, his eyes trained on Zabuza all the time.

"Tch... he's fast... he's not one of the Seven Swordsmen for a reason, to move that fast with such a huge sword..."

"... Gay"

"NARUTO!" Sakura yelled, blushing as Naruto chuckled. Sakura scoffed but then noticed Naruto's hand trembling, as his eyes were trained on Kakashi, his breath hitching with every time Kakashi had a close call, or when Zabuza's blade would come too close to him.

"He'll be fine Naruto," Sakura said, putting her hand on his shoulder surprising him.

"Huh? Oh... thanks," Naruto mumbled, having never expected Sakura to comfort him.

However, at that moment, Kakashi made a grave mistake. In order to deal with Zabuza, he followed him to the lake, and at that moment, Zabuza's victory was confirmed.

"You made a grave mistake, following a ninja of Mist to a body of water," Zabuza sneered, going through hand signs and the very instance, Kakashi felt his feet stuck in the water, unable to move, water slowly engulfing him.

"Even Kakashi of Sharingan can't get out of my water prison," Zabuza grinned, creating another Water Clone, walking towards Naruto and others.

"He can't reach us, Water Clones have a range, and he can't let go of the Water Prison Jutsu either" Sakura said, nervousness in her voice.

"TEAM 7! TAKE ZABUZA RIGHT NOW AND RETREAT!" Kakashi ordered.

Zabuza chuckled, as the clone stopped just at the shore of the lake. "For all previous talk, you all are quite scared. Do you think you're ninjas? The real ninjas are the ones who've been on the edge of life and death multiple times. Only those in bingo books are worthy of being called a ninja.

Naruto wasn't saying anything, looking at Tazuna, then at Kakashi.

"YOU THREE! DON'T LISTEN! MISSION IS THE PRIORITY! HE WON'T BE ABLE TO FOLLOW YOU ALL!"

Naruto looked at Sakura. She was the one scared the most out of the three. Sakura looked at Zabuza, then Kakashi, contemplating.

"... Naruto, I was stupid to think you're some dumb kid... I don't know why you hid your abilities, but I know you've constantly shocked me, surpassing whatever I thought of you. We're Konoha shinobi... we don't leave anyone behind," Sakura said, clenching her fist, making both Sasuke and Naruto grin, as they then turned to Tazuna.

"I'm in no rush to die but, seeing as how you all are in this mess because of me, I don't exactly want my life to be spared at the cost of one of yours. Sorry you all, fight as much as you want."

"With how much Chakra this barrier is taking, I can sustain it for 5 minutes alone... not more. So, you both, get that bastard," Sakura said, taking their hands away from the seals.

"LANGUAGE, WE'RE 12!" Sasuke and Naruto yelled at once and Sakura just chuckled, placing her hands on the two other seals that previously Naruto and Sasuke were powering, immediately feeling the strain on her body.

Sasuke grimaced, knowing out of them, Sakura had the smallest chakra pool, and her body wouldn't be used to such pressure on the system. But this was his choice, he had to respect that.

With that, both Naruto and Sasuke jumped out of the barrier, looking at Zabuza's clone.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING!" Kakashi yelled, even though with every passing second, the oxygen in his body was depleting.

Naruto didn't say anything as he made a bunch of clones, jumping towards Zabuza.

"While it's cute how you all brats are playing ninjas, NONE OF YOU ARE ACTUAL SHINOBI!" Zabuza yelled being swarmed and held by multiple Naruto clones.

Naruto stared into his eyes, the previous playfulness and nervousness gone.

"Zabuza, the Demon... I heard what you did... remember this, Zabuza. Naruto Uzumaki will be the one with the highest bounty in this Bingo book you boast of."

The intensity with which Naruto said that made the actual Zabuza flinch too, the clone getting mad with the anger.

"YOU BRATS!" the clone yelled, sending the Naruto clones flying back, and Naruto, expecting this, started going through his bag midair.

"SASUKE!" he yelled, tossing something to Sasuke, who caught it.

'I see your plan, Naruto,' Sasuke smirked, unfolding the Demon Wind Shuriken.

"A shuriken won't work on me," the Zabuza clone sneered. Sasuke gave him no attention as he threw the Shuriken towards Zabuza, as it went past the Zabuza clone.

'IT was aimed at my real body!' Zabuza thought as he caught it. "BUT IT'S NOT SO EASY!"

This confidence of his faltered however as another Demon Wind Shuriken cut through the air, approaching him.

"I see, Shadow Shuriken Jutsu. Impressive for a genin, but not ENOUGH!" he jumped up, the Shuriken passing from below him, and he grinned from inside his bandages.

Tazuna and Sakura's eyes widened as one thought ran through their mind, 'IT MISSED!' Sasuke, on the other hand, just smirked

"BUT THIS IS!" came a yell from behind him, the shuriken going in a puff of air, Naruto coming out of it, grinning as a very compressed ball of compressed air was on top of his finger.

"WIND RELEASE: Death Wind Stream," Naruto said as a concentrated beam of wind shot from that small ball of compressed air, grazing Zabuza's face, injuring him.

"AAAAH!!!" yelled Zabuza as he turned, ready to attack Naruto with the Demon Wind Shuriken, except he felt a hard uppercut straight on his face from below, sending him tumbling back.

Kakashi breathed heavily, drenched, as he levelled a glare at Zabuza, bloodlust emanating from him.

Naruto and Sasuke smirked, knowing their job was done.

"It's your funeral, Zabuza," they both said in sync.
