Opening her eyes, she looked around; back on the night of the party, she found herself walking towards Jeongin yet again -- just the way she had the last time before the two were about to almost kiss and the car was about to crash. As soon as Eunha realized it, she rushed towards Jeongin in her uncomfortable heels, making him question, "What are you in such a hurry for?"

"Come on, we have to get out of here," she muttered, grabbing his wrist and rushing him out of the spot. He reluctantly walked along, complaining, "Hey, why are we going away-"

The two heard a loud crash behind them, and they turned around in a snap to see that the same car from before had crashed into a streetlight.

"FUCK!" Jeongin cursed, "They really just bumped in..." he turned to Eunha, "God knows what would've happened if we were standing on that spot..."

"Yeah, let's go now," she simply spoke, dragging him away from the site altogether.

Jeongin, who was being pulled away by her, noticed how worked up she was. Even though she looked gorgeous in that red dress, he couldn't come to compliment her, seeing that she was uneasy and disturbed.

"What's wrong?" he asked, and she stopped walking, turning to look at him.

And it was at that moment that she knew that she had come to like him more than anything, anyone she had ever liked before; and that she wanted him safe and sound, even if it meant sacrificing her time with him.

Humans have weird emotions, she noted, because she was just getting a taste of those. Perhaps she had been here too long for her own good. However, she chose this world better than her own.

As she was about to answer him, she saw the Grim Reaper standing at some distance from them, next to the crashed car; he was wearing his usual black attire and holding his scythe, just staring at them from a distance.

"Can you... can you see him?" she questioned, eyes never leaving the skeletal piece of shit. Jeongin turned around and his eyes roamed over his surrounding.

He clicked his tongue, "Who?"

Eunha sighed; what had she gotten herself into?

---

She wasn't even listening in the school the next day as she and the boys sat around their usual table.

"Guys, you both missed the party!" Hyunjin complained, "We had so much fun! Where were you two?"

"Couple things, Hyunjin, couple things," Felix shook his head, "We wouldn't get it."

"Actually, yeah," Chan spoke, "It's hard to believe but we're all single."

From a distance, they heard the Banger elicit an ungodly squeal.

"Then why don't we date?" Changbin spoke, standing up and folding his muscular arms over his muscular chest.

"I thought you were already dating your protein shakes, bro," Jisung teased, but no one laughed. Instead, there came a collective sigh from the boys.

"No, but do you guys get his point? Let's find someone to date," Seungmin spoke like a wise bachelor, and Jeongin gasped, "There's no way you just said that!"

"What?"

Jeongin laughed and shook Eunha's shoulder, giggling to her as he got her attention, "Did you actually hear Kim Seungmin say that he wants to date?"

Eunha tore her attention away from her contemplation as she looked at him, unknowingly fondly. She admired him and his bubbly laughter as he engaged in the silly, mindless talks of the group, clapping his hands when Minho said something witty -- she wasn't listening. She was just grateful to be sitting beside him, knowing that it was the day of his death. However, fuck her mom and fuck the Grim Reaper; she was not going to let them have their way.

And at that moment, she realized: she would do anything to protect him.

"Hey, Deviless?" Minho called for her, shaking her out of her thoughts, "You look lost. Are you mind fucking him or something?"

She glared at him, chucking a croissant from Jisung's plate and tossing it at Minho. Jisung looked at his plate in devastation, crying, "MY CROISSANT!"

Jeongin giggled, and as Eunha was looking at him, she saw the Grim Reaper walking into the cafeteria. She glowered at him, just one thought clouding her head:

Bring it on, you skeletal fucker.
