The next morning, Jeongin walked up to Eunha's dorm room, ready (for love) to irritate the creature he had suddenly started to love to annoy. He grinned as he climbed up the stairs to the floor that her room was situated on, giving a thought to why he had taken a liking to the Deviless, out of all creatures that could exist.
To him, she was just a petite-bodied woman with probably no soul, but sets of fireworks within. She pretended that she didn't care for anything or anyone, but he had seen glimpses of her actual self when Jeongin's sandwich had once slipped from his hands, and she had offered him hers -- albeit nonchalantly; going to the extent of even rolling her eyes and saying, "Take it, I don't need food to survive."
And he could bet that he had heard her groan for food just a few minutes prior to that. And he didn't see her going to the cafeteria again.
See? She cared! Be it in the smallest of manners, he knew that she cared for him. Maybe the others, too, but he sort of wanted the attention all to himself. He didn't want to know why.
So as Jeongin reached her floor, he heard chuckles sounding from the corner where her room was located. He slowly walked over, his steps steady but silent, and he saw three other figures outside her room.
Hyunjin, Jisung, and Felix. With Eunha. Laughing.
Jeongin's mouth hung open in shock -- was Eunha actually laughing with them?
He watched as she stood outside her room, locking it, with a small smile on her face. The other three joked around behind her, and Jisung said something silly that made her chuckle. And to Jeongin, that little chuckle sounded awkward but sweet; as if that had been buried somewhere deep inside her and they had somehow managed to resurface it.
And Jeongin so wanted to be that cause. Unfortunately, he wasn't.
"Eunha," Jeongin said, solemnly. All the four of them turned around to see him, but he didn't smile back.
"Yeah, mortal?" she said.
"Have you-" Jeongin began, but Felix, who was full of energy (god knows where he gets it from), exclaimed, "Jeonginnie! Did you know she's not a human?"
"Yeah! She's from Hell! Can you believe that?! Like, it actually exists!" Hyunjin gushed.
"You know...?" Jeongin was agape.
"Of course! She loves us!" Jisung shot finger hearts at the Deviless, and she gagged, "Ew, gross! Keep that bullshit to yourself! And I told you not to tell anyone about this!"
"But you love us~" Felix childishly sang, and she replied, "Yeah, love you enough to slaughter you."
"Seems like you've made enough new friends," Jeongin spat, feeling involuntarily jealous. He wasn't kidding earlier when he thought that he wanted all her attention to himself.
"Um, sure?" Eunha was clueless about his cold, foreign behavior.
"Then see you later," Jeongin took off, turning around and walking down the stairs, leaving the rest of the four to be confounded.
"What happened to him?" Jisung wondered aloud, "Did someone piss in his cereal today?"
"Seems like that," Eunha indifferently spoke -- feeling slightly troubled due to Jeongin's outlandish behavior. And why was she feeling even the slightest bit of uneasiness? She had no answer, and she didn't want one either.
"Wait..." Hyunjin finally had the epiphany, "Did he already know about you? Because he sure didn't act funny..."
Eunha sighed.
---
Jeongin hadn't uttered a single word to her throughout the day, and it was oddly beginning to get on her nerves. Uncharacteristically enough, she wanted him to annoy her. Needed him to speak to her. It was more annoying than having a roach in her room, and that spoke volumes.
Currently, seated on their usual table in the cafeteria, Eunha observed how Jeongin was sitting at the other end of the table; far, far away from her. And her eyebrow irked.
"Hey, Jeongin," she sternly spoke, "Pass me that bottle of juice."
"Take it yourself," he simply said.
The Deviless slammed her hands on the table, alerting the entire cafeteria, "PASS THE FUCKING JUICE, YANG JEONGIN!"
Jeongin looked at her, and then slammed a hand on the table as well, "TAKE IT YOURSELF!"
With that being said, he grabbed his belongings and left the cafeteria, leaving behind Eunha fuming with rage. Rage on the fact that she couldn't express her feelings.
Asking people aggressively for juice was apparently her love language.
As Jeongin walked off, Eunha sulked and sat down on her seat and folded her arms over her chest. Nobody knew what to tell her or Jeongin, but the dad(dy) of the group knew just how to comfort her.
"Are you two going through a rough patch? Because ups and downs are a part of the ride."
Changbin added, "And if it's about your sexual life, uh, you gotta try out, um, new things- and use protection alway-"
"Can you shut the fuck up?" Eunha roared, standing up and following Jeongin's path.
Behind her, the seven boys debated,
"Is it about their sexual life? Because I swear I've seen them act strange and call each other some bizarre nicknames," Seungmin stated.
"I bet it's because he hadn't shaved down ther-"
"Shut up, gross!"
