Chapter 6 - A sweet girl

''Is he smiling from his heart?'' This question was disturbing me a lot. There must be a reason behind it. It's really awkward for me to say this but my sixth sense has always been the worst. Even Rimti has a lot better sixth sense than me. You must be thinking if it's true then how did I notice Ullash's smile? Don't forget that I may have come in the past somehow but I am still 23 years old Sujita in 17 years old Sujita's body. So I can't just ignore my doubt.

We were late to attend the trial class today. Rimti became late to pick me up. So somehow we reached there. After the class we met neither Ullash nor Either. We both were talking and walking. 

''You came to coaching to make friends. But you have made no progress yet.''

I sighed andreplied disappointedly, "Have I ever spoken to guys before? I think except for my cousins I have only talked to Ullash and Ethar.'' Rimti suddenly became uncomfortable as I spoke.

"Rimti, tell me honestly. Do you dislike Ullash? Or is there something you are hiding?"

Rimti looked at me surprisingly. ''Sujita, I think you have changed since a few days.''

I casually said, "What are you talking about? I am still me."

''No. I mean yes, you are still you but I feel like you have grown mature. Whatever…'' She took a deep breath and said, ''I have a feeling that Ullash dislikes me.'' and she left saying that.

"Huh!?" 

I didn’t notice when we arrived at the crossroad where we had to go separate ways. She left so I can't do anything now. I also started walking. Ours and Rimti's society both have a big playground at the entrance. There are benches all around the ground. While walking I noticed a small girl sitting on one of the benches. Most probably she was a student of 4th or 5th grade . She had a wound on her knee which was bleeding, maybe she fell while playing and got hurt. I always carry a small first aid kit because I get hurt all the time. I went near the girl,

"Hey. Let me see. Oh no It's bleeding so much. Is it hurting a lot?"

The girl was looking at me surprisingly . I smiled and said,

"Actually I'm very clumsy and get hurt easily. So I always carry a small first aid kit. Let me see your knee. I'll put a band aid."

The girl put her knee forward."How does it feel now?"

''It's better." 

For the first time she spoke something. Her voice was really sweet. 

"Where do you live?I can take… "

''Nilima! Why are you here..what happened to your knee?'' I heard a familiar voice. I turned around and saw Ethar. 

''I fell while playing.'' The girl said in a low voice.

''How many times have I told you to be careful? How long have you been sitting here for?''

''Um..one hour.''

I looked at her shockingly. It was almost dark. This little girl was sitting here for an hour? Ethar lightly slapped her head and said,''Who told you to wait for me? If you told your friends they would have helped you to reach home.''

Looking at Neelima's face it was clear that this idea didn't come to her mind, waiting for her brother seemed to be the best option to her. Still she said,

''Uff vaiya (older brother) I'm not so stupid like you to bother my friends. You should feel blessed that I was waiting for you.'' 

I laughed in my mind listening to her. Ethar put Nilima on his back and said,'bHmm I get it. Lets go. Grandma must be searching for you.''

Nilima looked at me and said,''Thank you apu. You are so kind. What's your name?''

"I am Sujita.And you don't have to thank me. It was my duty."

Then me and Ethar with nilima on his back started walking.
