Chapter 8 - Shiuli (part 2)

''Where are you guys going?''

We turned around and saw Ethar and Ullash standing.

'To solve the mystery.'' Nilima answered.

''What? What mystery will you solve in the forest?''

''Uff vaiya. You are a fool. You won't understand.'' she held our hands and started walking, ''Let's go apu.''

''What do you mean 'lets go'? There is no road there.'' Ethar became angry and said, ''Is forest a place to go?'' 

"Actually.." I couldn't understand what to say, "We saw some Shiuli flowing in the water. So we just wanted to check if there is any shiuli tree in the forest or not."

''Shiuli??'' Ullash was surprised to hear that, ''Shiuli tree in a jungle?''

Nilima again started dragging us, ''Apu, just ignore them. Let's go it’s getting late.''

Rimti also started dragging me, ''Come on. Let's go now.''

We started walking. Ethar and Ullash were also following us. No matter what happens, Ethar can not leave his sister alone.

We entered the jungle and started walking. Forests of our area were not that deep. It's just that no one lives here. We were following the river's flow. After a while, none of us were prepared to see what we saw. We were shocked. A big shiuli tree was standing on the river bank, the whole tree looked white because of the flowers. It was so beautiful!

''Shiuli tree in a forest? It's unbelievable!'' Ullash stated.

''See? I told you.'' Nilima said with a big smile.

''How beautiful!'' Rimti looked at me and said,''Let's pick some up. We can make shiuli garlands.''

"Good idea." I said and we started gathering shiuli flowers. We sat under the tree and started sewing, Nilima also joined us. Just like I always carry a first aid kit, Rimti also carries a sewing kit with her. Ethar and Ullash were just standing there as they had nothing else to do. After sometimes Ethar said,''Nilima. Let's go now,come.''

''Vaiya not now please. I want to stay a little more.''

''No. You’ve spent a lot of time here Grandma must be worrying. You were supposed to go home a long time ago.'' Hearing about grandma Nilima agreed to go,''Okay. Let's go.''

Me and Rimti also packed out things and departed for home.

This place had become mine and Rimti's hangout place. Sometimes Nilima also joined us.

(After two days)

Rimti didn't go to coaching todsay because she went to visit her gandma, she'll be back in the afternoon. I also thought that I won't go but mom sent me forcefully. After the class I was walking home.

''Hey Sujita!'' Ethar called me from behind. Yup, nowadays we talk more than before.

"Hey Ethar. Where is Ullash?" I smiled and asked.

''He has extra classes today. We have exams after a few days so he is too serious about studies..''

''Oh''

We started walking. We also talked during the journey. Ethar suddenly asked me,''What do you think about Ullash's behaviour?''

"Huh?  What do you mean?"

''Means nothing. Just a simple question.''

I didn't understand why he asked that, so I just said, "He seems to be a good guy. His behaviour is also better than you…" ughh what did I just say? I shouldn’t have said that. "No,I mean.."

Ethar just ignored that and said,''What else do you think?''

"Everything is good about him…but..I just have a feeling that his smile..he doesn't smile whole heartedly. It feels like he is forcing himself to smile."

After I said that Ethar was looking at me with wide eyes. He just said, ''Ohh.''

What does he mean by 'ohh'? I thought in my mind. He should have said something more. But I didn't dare to say it out loud. Ullash is his best friend. So more than me he has worries about him. I also noticed one more thing, whenever we talk about Ethar or whenever Ullash talks to Ethar, he doesn't fake his smile. It shows that they are really good friends.

"No matter what. You both are really good friends."

Ethar smiled looking at me and said,''I think so.''

For the first time I saw him smiling. His smile…It's kinda cute.
