Chapter 8 --- The event that shaped the world

3 years later

Ben's POV

A few of my friends and I are driving to a party at our school. We are half way there when I see a truck with steel poles run the red light. "Look out!!" I see he doesn't have time to get out the way. I grab his arm and he lets go of the wheel. I pull him over to me and the truck slams into me.

10 minutes later

I slowly wake up and look over to my left. I see a pole where my friend Alex was. I see his head bleeding so I get out of the seatbelt and try to pull him out with me. I unbuckle his seatbelt and slowly pull him out. Suddenly I see flames come up from the engine. I finally free him and get him to a safe distance. I run back and try to get one of the other three in the back out. I see the fire coming closer to the gas tank so I take my shirt and try to slow it down. He wakes up slowly and sees the fire. He opens the door and tries to get out. "Ben go!" "Not without you." I pull him out and we run. Suddenly the fire hits the gas tank and the car blows up. "You okay." I ask him. "Yea. Your bleeding on your forehead." "I know." I see the fire trucks and police come. One of the policemen come to me and asks "what happen here?" "We were driving to a school party when this truck with steel pipes on it ran a red light and crashed right into us. I pulled my friend over to me and it saved his life." "You did the right thing." The medics come over to us and check us out. "You have a small cut from the shattered glass." He tells me. He cleans it and bandages it. The medics load Alex into the ambulance and I tell Max to leave. He hugs me and I jump in the back of the ambulance.

1 hour later

I am in Alex's hospital room wishing he would wake up. Suddenly somebody knocks on the door. "Its open." They walk in and its Ross and my family. I jump up and run to him. He holds me and I cry into his chest. "Hey. Look at me." I look at him and he examines my wound. "You okay?" "Yea. I'm just wondering about him. I saved him from being impaled but after that...I don't know what happen." "Okay. Lets go." Ross grabs my hand but I pull away. "Ben...what wrong." "Ca...can I talk to you in private." "Sure." Everyone else leaves and I say "you are going to be mad at me...we weren't going to the school...I disobeyed you...I'm sorry. We...we were not going to the school...we were going out...to drink. I screw up everything." "Hey hey. Listen. Everyone makes mistakes. You learned from your mistake" "Please don't tell them." "Your secret is safe." I hug him. I look back at Alex and place the small card I made while I was here on the table with a small picture. Me and Ross walk out.

4 hours later

"Ben!! Down here now!!" My dad yells. I jump up from my bed and walk down the stairs to see my whole family and Ross has his head down. They must have broke him. "Is it true that your were going to a party that involved alcohol. I nod. I see Ross mouth 'I'm sorry'. I turn away so I couldn't see him. "You were taught better than that." "I WAS NEVER TAUGHT ANYTHING. I WAS IGNORED FOR 6 YEARS OF MY LIFE!! WHEN ROSS STARTED TO LOVE ME, IT WAS THE BEST MOMENT OF MY PATHETIC LIFE." "That still doesn't change what you did. Until further notice, you are grounded." Dad says. I look at my siblings to see that they are shocked. None of them have ever been grounded before. I run to my room and slam the door. I get onto my bed and cry.

Ross's POV

I start to walk to mine and Ben's room when my dad stops me. "Do not go in there." "He learned from his mistakes. He shouldn't have been grounded." "This is not up for debate Ross." I run to our room and shut the door. "Ben??" He looks at me. I walk over to him and hug him. "I'm sorry Ben...if you don't trust me anymore...I'll leave." He wraps arms around me slowly and says "we all make mistakes." Using what I told him earlier. "Come on lets go." "Where are we going." He lets go and I say "we are running away. Together." He smiles and starts packing a small bag. I pack a small bag and I see him grab his KD's box and put it in the bag as well. I open the window and Ben crawls out. I start to climb out when I hear someone at the door. Sounds like Rydel. I motion for Ben to hide under the window and I shut it. I close the bathroom door and throw the bag down. She walks in and says "Hey...wheres Ben." "In the bathroom." "Okay..." she shuts the door and walks to me. "What are you two actually doing." "....we are running away." "Kinda figured that." She hands me her phone and says "take my phone and give me both yours and Ben's." I give mine to her and I open the window and tell Ben to stand up. He gives her his phone and I hug her. "Stay safe guys." She hugs Ben "I'm going on vacation for a few weeks so they can't break me." I smile "thanks." "Now go before they find you." I go through the window and Me and Ben start running far away from our house.

4 hours later

"Ross...where are we going." "Someplace safe." I say. We finally arrive at the house Rydel bought for our family band we sorta created. I unlock the door and turn on the lights. "Ross...how did you get this place." "Rydel bought it for our family band." " we have a band?" "After you were kidnapped, we made a family band to get our minds off of you. Before then, we were a wreck...Well me and Rydel. The others weren't back yet." "Okay." He lays his bag down and looks around the house. "You like it." "Very." He runs to me and jumps on me. I wrap my arms around him and hold him. "You are such a great brother." He says "I couldn't ask for a better baby brother either." I smile. I walk over to the couch and place him down. "You wanna watch a movie?" "Sure."

3 hours later

I wake up to being carried to a room. "Ross..." "Its alright. Go back to sleep." Don't have to tell me twice. "Goodnight." I feel him get into bed beside me and I feel his warm lips on my forehead. I smile and I fall asleep peacefully.

Nice middle chapter. Small things next chapter then I skip 3 years to Ross's big break and the Louder tour. Bye
