chapter 5 ;; again

belos wasn't home.

and today was the servants' day off. that meant that hunter had the entire manor to himself. and he hated that. and so, he stepped slowly up the stairs and into his room. onto his bed and curling up into a ball. was he supposed to do?

of course. he had much more homework to do.

hunter sat up, and got some papers out of their bag. one paper was a test on "how to care for a baby rabbit," and some others were on simpler things, like art. hunter got to work.

oh, but soon he started to get hungry. so, hunter got up and headed down to the kitchen. he got out some edamame beans out, heated them up, and sprinkled some salt on them for flavor. hunter jumped when he thought he heard something outside, but when he looked nothing was there.

after eating, hunter got a glass of water and went back to his room. he placed it beside him as he started to work on their homework again. there was a difficult question on his beastkeeping test on baby rabbits, so he skipped over it to come back to it later.

he did this until 6:00. hunter checked the time and yelped, accidentally knocking over his cup of water that he never drank and spilled it everywhere. 'no- no, no, no, no, shit-' hunter murmured as he rushed to pick up the papers that werent wet. he lifted up the cup quickly, but it only had a sliver of water left in it. his floor was soaked and since he had marble floor and not carpet, it couldnt absorb, so it created a large-ass puddle around hunters desk and feet. they raced out of their room, to the bathroom, and grabbed a big towel. they came back and threw the towel on the puddle-turned-pool. the blond stepped on the towel and started dragging it with his feet, as if he were skating[although, hunter doesn't quite know what skating is].

it wasn't completely dry, but it was good enough. ...ew , hunter tried not to gag, as he was wearing socks when the water spilled, and now his socks...were wet.

so, of course, as any normal human being would, hunter changed out of their socks and put on new ones. hunter then looked up, and realized that he'd spent all night doing his homework. looking in a mirror, he saw his eyebags were a little darker than usual. and thats when a wave of exhaustion washed over him, blurring his vision and sending small pricks of tears to his eyes. '...hhhhuuhh..' hunter yawned, bringing a hand to their mouth. they were about to get dressed, but then realized that he'd never put on pajamas before he did his homework, so he already had his uniform on.

hunter put his boots on, and left his room. Strangely, belos still wasn't home, so hunter got his bag and went outside to the bus stop, which was just across the street. hunter waited there for a long time, nearly falling asleep, but they heard the squealing of the bus wheels slowing a while later.

'good morning, miss carolle,' hunter murmured as he got onto the bus. 'g'morning, 'unter!' she said sweetly, nodding. hunter slid into their seat, sighing. familiar, chirpy voice snapped them awake. ,' luz grinned down at him. '...oh,' hunter murmured, blinking and yawning softly. '...hunter, i gotta question for you,' luz said. hunter looked up. 'how many hours of sleep did you have last night?' she asked. hunter blinked, staring at her, silent. she looked back at him, expecting an answer, before blinking and resting her cheek on the top side of her hand. time did you go to sleep and what time did you wake up?' hunter shifted in their seat, seemingly uncomfortable. luz's smile turned into a scowl and she glared at hunter. 'no wonder your eyebags are so dark. what time do you usuallywake up?' she asked. hunter coughed. '...6:00AM.' she stared at him, her eyes widening. 'holy shit, hunter,' she said, and was about to say something else when the bus stopped at school. '...cya, luz.' hunter said and got off. 'you know im in every single one of your classes, right?' she said, but hunter ignored her and saw edric.
