"Hey Yangyang. How are you?"
Raewon asked catching up with the boy in the corridor.

"Okay but I'm tired of these lectures."

"Same with me. Are you going to the cafeteria?"

"Sure. I'd eat something."
As they followed the people to the cafeteria, Raewon saw a glimpse of black hair. As they got in line, she noticed Jaemin who was walking hurriedly towards the garden entrance.

Unfortunately, the boy she saw last time stood in his way.

"Where are you going, loser?"

"Let me go. I don't have time for this."

"Haha you hear this? He has no time."
The tall blond-haired boy announced turning his head towards his friends.
Suddenly the boy grabbed Jaemin by the collar of his hoodie and brought him closer.

"You're not going anywhere loser. You know what we can do to you."

"Leave me alone Sangwook."
Jaemin said unfazed but he was actually crying inwardly and wishing no one would bother him. He wanted to get as far away from here as possible to be alone.

Sangwook released Jaemin only to punch him in the stomach. The poor boy leaned in to grab his belly. Sangwook took the opportunity to send his leg straight into Jaemin's thigh causing the boy to flew back. To his luck, he landed on his elbows, avoiding his head touching the cold, hard tiles.

Raewon felt the urge to run after him, but Yangyang grabbed her by the arm.

"Don't bother Rae. I don't want them to do anything to you."

Raewon was pissed off as she watched the crowd gather around the boys. Nobody was going to help him. People just watched the situation and some even dared to laugh at Jaemin's fall along with Sangwook and his bunch of idiots.

Raewon leaned over to see what was going on with Jaemin. The boy stood up with a grimace on his face, rubbing his elbows. He hung the bag on his arm and ran from the cafeteria straight to the garden.

"Run Jaeminie, run. It's not over yet!"

Sangwook high fived his friends as they went to their table. The students who watched the situation returned to their seats while Raewon was fuming with anger inside.

When she returned to her room after finishing classes, she found Jaemin standing by his bedside with an exposed torso drying his hair with a towel. Her face turned red and she wanted to run out of there as soon as possible but she noticed bruises on his back and elbows.

Shame turned to pity and Raewon walked over to the boy, gently touching the purple spots on his back with her fingers.

Jaemin, unaware of her presence, shuddered and quickly grabbed his T-shirt to put on his bare torso.

"Are you okay? Does it hurt much?"
Raewon was surprised at how much sympathy was there in her voice.

"No, it doesn't hurt. You didn't see anything."

Jaemin said hurriedly, all nervous that someone had seen his bruises and threw the headphones over his ears as he sat down on the bed. He pulled his knees up to his chin and avoided any further questions from the girl. He tried not to look at her and forget about the whole situation that happened today.

After leaving the bathroom, Raewon assumed that Jaemin was already asleep. He must be exhausted and in pain. She took a paper raven out of her hoodie pocket and placed it on the bedside table next to the phone. Good night, raven.

She turned off the lamp and laid facing the wall. She managed to fall asleep right away but she didn't know that a certain person was watching her all the time, pretending to be asleep.

Jaemin rose from the bed reaching for the bag. He took out all the paper black ravens and placed it messily on the windowsill. Then his eyes wandered to the raven lying on Raewon's bedside table.

He approached girl's bed and grabbed the raven in his hands, turning it around in his fingers. He looked at the raven, then at the girl repeatedly. You didn't throw it away.

He put the raven back on the table as Raewon had left him there and laid down on the bed himself, wincing in pain as his back came in touch with the mattress. He gently turned on his side and covered himself with blanket up to his neck.

Before he fell asleep, single tears ran down his cheeks, leaving wet stains on the pillow.
