*IMPORTANT*
Hey guys, it's been a while, I know. To those of you who didn't read my announcement, I simply haven't had the time to update the last weeks. A general election here in Denmark, work and massive amounts of school work have taken up time.
But... here I am again, ready to continue Charles and Max's story of their devoted love, and how they manage to tackle the world. So, enjoy:)
-----------------------
Max's POV
The first thing, I noticed, as I entered Charles' hotel room was his bedroom door half-open, and the crack in the door allowed for some light to slip out into the rest of the hotel room, as he had drawn his curtains. An eerie silence filled the room, which caused my stomach to turn. I wondered if anything had happened to him. I quickly got to the bedroom door and opened it lightly, making sure not to wake him, if he had fallen asleep again. I had lost contact with him on the phone five minutes before, I arrived, as my phone died.
I found the bed empty, which caused even more trouble, and I really started to lose my mind. But as I was about to scream of frustration, I heard a squeaky voice call from the living room. "Max, I'm in he- here," I heard Charles stutter. The sound of his voice instantly made me feel relieved, happy and incommensurable pleased that he was still there. I rushed into the living room, and before I hit something in the proces, Charles turned on a lamp, which stood next to the couch, where he was cuddled up in his blanket, his hair all messed up and his eyes red and puffy, signalling that he too had cried his brains out that night. That connection, which formed in my mind at that moment only reassured me that I would do anything to protect the Monegasque boy in front of me. He looked so fragile right there, but also cute and sexy. I couldn't stop myself from forming a smile on my face, but that quickly faded, as I saw the seriousness in Charles's eyes, and I started to worry again.
"Are you okay Charlie? What happened?" I asked him, as I knelt down, so I met him at eye level. "Max, I... I don't know what happened. And I don't know, if I'm okay. When we got home today from the prize giving, me and my mum sat down in the bar to get a couple of drinks. We chatted about everything, and how my brother Lorenzo should have been there today but couldn't as he was sick." He now sat up in the couch and revealed his bare torso, which - given the seriousness - my eyes wondered up and down anyway. He then patted on the couch next to him and motioned for me to come sit down, and so I did, and he continued.
Charles's POV
"After about... I don't know, like maybe an hour and a half, she suddenly asked me about our... you know... at the prize giving. My world turned upside down, I- I... I felt so scared in that moment, Max,"I said as I now started to cry again. I felt Max's arm wrap around my shoulders, and I let myself sink in to Max's embrace. His other arm found its way around me as well, joining up his hands and gently caressing my biceps. It was like my arms were made to fit in to Max's.
We just sat there a couple of minutes, as he allowed me to cry out whilst he continued to caress my arms. He rocked me from side to side and silently shushed in between the small pecks he left in my hair. It didn't take long, before I calmed down, and I was able to sit up again, though this time remaining in his embrace.
"Max, what are these feelings? Why am I forced to care what society thinks. I don't fucking want to care. All I care about is you," I said and turned to look Max in the eyes. I could see he was starting to tear up as well. "Charles, you're not the only one. You're not alone baby. I too am nervous like helle about this. When me, my dad and sister got home, I went out on to the balcony and reflected on our kiss earlier. But then my family saw me and interrupted me. And as I got in, these thoughts melted together, and now I- I ca- can't sto- stop mixing it together," he now sobbed out. Now, it was my turn to embrace Max and let him cry out and shushing him.
