Issei opens the door of the room where Matsuda was meditating.
Issei: Apprentice.
Matsuda opens his eyes and sees his master.
Matsuda: Iss- I-I mean, master? Something wrong?
Issei: Yes, but it's my problem. Which is why I'm speeding up your training and skipping a few steps. We'll get back to them later.
Matsuda: What are we going to do?
Issei: I'm taking you... to the kyber mines.
Timeskip
Matsuda: Holy shit!... ow!
Issei: That's just the parts you can see. The whole of the mines is far more vast than even this massive hole. And that's where what you are going to retrieve is.
Matsuda: I-in there?
Issei: Yes. I will explain. The mines are crowded with "Kyber stalactites". These stalactites are what the Sith used for all non-force weapons. We super heated them into an sort of plasma, yet not the same, and that powered many weapons in the military. But, inside a select few, there resides a singular "Kyber crystal". Those are the things that power this.
He ignites his lightsaber, in all its red glory. Matsuda marvels at it, getting to see it up close for the first time. Issei soon sheathes it.
Issei: That is what I task you to find. If you find one, you get to keep it, and later use it.
Matsuda: But, how am I going to find one in there? I'll get lost almost immediately.
Issei: You would if you weren't a Force wielder. But you're my apprentice. Search your feelings, the Force will guide your way through. Now... go.
Matsuda: Y-yes master.
Timeskip
Issei: Finally, he has found it.
After hours of waiting, Issei spots Matsuda at one of the ledges in the entrance on the mines. He was huffing and puffing, completely out of breath from his excavation, but essentially having the Kyber crystal in his palm. He held it up where his master could see it, with a smile on his face. Issei smiles as well, seeing that his apprentice succeeded.
Timeskip
The two arrive in a chamber located in an abandoned Sith academy location. The room is dark and musty, with cobwebs all over.
Matsuda: What is this place?
Issei: An old chamber, where Sith masters locked their apprentices in, until they came up with the design of their own lightsaber hilt, and then made it. Then, those apprentices had to test their craftsmanship by cutting themselves out.
Matsuda: Huh, is that what I'm doing?
Issei: Yes. You will be crafting your own lightsaber. The tools and materials are already here, so you should get started.
He walks to the chamber door, shuts it behind him, and locks it.
Matsuda: Wait, what?!! What are you doing!?
Issei: I know it may seem cruel, but trust me. This method was extremely effective, and I will continue to use it for you.
Matsuda: But I don't know how to work this shit!!! What am I going to do!?
Issei: No one who went through this knew what they were doing at first, not even me. And, you're going to do as you are told. Make the hilt, and cut your way out. I'll be waiting at the academy entrance.
Matsuda: Wait come back!! .....damn it!
He looks to the materials.
Matsuda: Well, better get to it.
Time Skip... Again
After some blood, sweat, and a lot of tears, Matsuda managed to make his hilt.
He grasped it with both hands, and breathed with uncertainty. The sight of his own lightsaber made him excited, but nervous. Would it work?
Finally mustering up the courage, he activated the blade, it recoiled a little given his first time. He was in awe of the crimson color, and was briefly hypnotized by the humming. But, he snapped out of his stupor and walk over to the heavy metal door. He cut the door at the frame making it fall down, freeing him after hours of struggle.
He made his way out to the entrance, where his master was waiting.
Issei: I told you so. Have I ever failed you before?
Matsuda: Can't say you have.
Issei: Hmph. Now then, we can begin.
Matsuda: Begin what?
Issei: The next part of your training.
Issei activates his own lightsaber, pointing it at Matsuda.
Issei: You have it, now you need to learn how to wield it effectively.
Matsuda was taken aback at first, but soon know what he was being asked to do. He ignited his lightsaber once again and got into a generic battle stance that he saw on TV.
Issei: Seems like you're ready... Begin!
