RiverClan

Mosspaw was taken back. "The Moonpool?" he whispered.

Shellwhisker sarcastically rolled her eyes, "Yes, yes the Moonpool. I am here to accept all oohs and ahhs that you may have. Seriously though, I've been meaning to seek advice from StarClan for awhile. Since you're more out and about now it'd be better to just take you with me. I can tend to your ears if there's any pain in return you can accompany me in case we run into any cats outside of RiverClan," the she-cat shook her long fur and licked her paw as she awaited the brown tom's answer.

Mosspaw paused, "Well I do need to figure out my future. Bristleface is asleep, Willowsong, and Thornscar are not available right now. Shellwhisker might know what I should do," the tom thought then slightly winced, "I better not say "might know" to her, she'll claw my ears off! As if they aren't in enough pain already." Mosspaw asked, "Wouldn't you just ask StarClan during half-moon with the other healers?"

Shellwhisker blinked, "I could, but for this matter I want to have plenty of time with them, and alone."

Mosspaw shrugged, "Yeah! Sure. I'll go with you." The furthest he had ever gone was the Gathering island on the edge of WindClan and ThunderClan territory, but that was so long ago. He'd never thought he'd be allowed to even go to the Moonpool. It was an honor!

The sleek silver tabby she-cat got up and started heading towards her den, "Good. Grab something to eat real quick then we'll head off. I have a mouthful I'd like to give to a certain apprentice before we leave." Shellwhisker gave a devious grin as she scanned her eyes around to find her target.

Mosspaw picked up a squirrel for them to share from the fresh kill pile and carried it to her den. He heard meows of protest as he glanced over to the clearing. Hazelwind, Mackreltail, and Wadestride were laughing at Shellwhisker using her head to scoot Petalpaw across the clearing towards her den while giving her a mouthful.

"That's what you get for leaving a mess in front of Shellwhisker!" Hazelwind called. Mackreltail nagged to her daughter, "Petalpaw! This is why I told you to always take your time with apprentice duties!" Wadestride sighed, "Ah apprentice days, I don't miss it at all." Hazeltail gazed at the white and black fluffy tom, "Didn't she do that to you too?" Wadestride replied, "She did! And for no reason too!" Mackreltail scoffed, "That's because you took a big bite out of the fish you were bringing to her! She'll make you learn one way or another."

The three cat's chatter faded as they were entering the den. "Ah! Shellwhisker! I said I was sorry! I can walk to your den! You. Don't. Have. To. Shove me!" Petalpaw gritted her teeth. Shellwhisker finally let up and looked at the two apprentices. "Let's all eat up," she grunted. The silver tabby plopped herself down.

Mosspaw looked over at the ginger apprentice then back at Shellwhisker, "Is Petalpaw coming with us too?" "Going where?" Petalpaw asked as she gazed at the brown tabby. Shellwhisker took a big bite of the squirrel, "Nope!" Mosspaw and Petalpaw crouched down to start sharing the squirrel. "Then why is she, here?" Mosspaw asked. Shellwhisker purred as her mouth was full then snickered, "She's going to be RiverClan's healer while we are gone." The grey tabby chuckled as all color seem to vanish from the ginger she-cat's face. "RiverClan's healer!? I don't know any herbs! I can't take care of the clan while you're gone!" Petalpaw gasped. Shellwhisker was having fun with this, "Why'd you become a warrior then? To protect your clan right? It's the same thing, but instead of with claws it's with plants, well it can also be with your claws if you want, especially if you have any patients that are a pain in the tail," she smirked, "That's what you get for leaving your mess behind for me to pick up Petalpaw!" Mosspaw saw as Petalpaw looked down and started to shift her paws with panic. He had felt that fear many times in his life. "You can take Petalpaw with you. I know at least a few herbs from staying in here," Mosspaw stated. Petalpaw looked up at the tom in adoration, Mosspaw looked away uncomfortably. Shellwhisker grunted, "You're a very kind cat Mosspaw, but what I say goes. Psh, it's not like I'm going to leave her behind with no knowledge whatsoever."
