A/N : LONG Long chapter ahead~~

You took position at the counter today, sending Vanya to take care of the commissary. Throwing frequent glances at the two shops, one diagonal, another exactly opposite to yours closed.

You sighed, pulling up your phone and opening the group chat consisting of you , Seokjin and Taehyung.

No messages.

This hadn't happened before, the two not opening their shops without informing you. Your hands itched to dial the numbers but you resisted.

It was gonna be a long day, you assumed, given the uneasiness didn't deem to fade away.

The bell chimed alerting a presence into the shop and you lifted up your head you see Joshua.

"Hey Joshua.", you greeted smiling and motioned at the chair, "Take a seat."

Joshua nodded, eyes sparkling and a mischievous smile set on his lips.

"You look so sullen", he remarked, "What happened?"

You frowned, "I don't know. I haven't been feeling well lately", and gestured behind the door, "Those two didn't open today. They didn't even inform me."

Joshua turned back to look, eyes turning dark for a sec before regaining that sparkle and looking back at you.

"Tae is helping Seokjin.", Joshua told.

"With what?"

"Aren't you supposed to meet Seokjin tonight?"

You nodded to that, "Yeah. But I don't wanna go because --", you stopped speaking.

"Because?", Joshua questioned.

You plopped down on your seat and heaved in discomfort, "My hunches are somehow always accurate and something in me saying that I won't be seeing Seokjin anymore."

Before Joshua could intercept, you laughed dismissively, "I know it doesn't make sense and I'm praying that it shouldn't because I can't imagine my life without him. He's basically the foundation, two pillars of my life?"

Joshua reached out to pat your head and surprisingly it soothened the dull ache in your chest.

"Keep doing that Josh", you mumbled, "It's calming."

Joshua's laughter ringed in your ear, as you found yourself smiling as well.

"I got something for you.", he said, "Claim it in 5 seconds or gone."

You hastily perched up and yelled , "I claim it!"

"Woah that was... fast?"

"And you got me something for what?", you squinted eyes at him.

"Because those brownies and doughnuts you fed me that day. Also, the huge amount of other confectioneries you packed out for me.", Joshua huffed, "It's only fair if I get you something in return."

"Did you try some of those?", You pouted, "I'm not sure how they tasted. I took them off the oven and packed as soon as they cooled."

"They're great Y/N!", Joshua assured.

You rolled, "Even if not, I have no other choice then to believe you since I can't taste sweet."

Joshua's eyes crinkled, as he spoke the next words with amusement, "Something in me says that you'll be able to soon though."

After some days of obliviousness it was clear, the reason you and Seokjin were prohibited from entering the palace.
