"WHY ARE YOU HERE?" Ashna stood up, her eyes held confusion.

Ivanya's words from the other day when they were having a conversation rumbled in her ears. 'An old friend is helping.'

She chuckled to herself and Emilia smiled at her reaction, feeling amused. After all, she was also dragged to this case because of Avirav.

She had no choice given that Avirav could not do it himself as he was still studying law, and Emilia had passed out, specializing in marriage and divorce cases. Given the persuasive powers he held, she was left with no other choice.

Giving a cold stare to Avirav, Ashna sat back down on the sofa, confused and irritated. She murmured to herself, "I did not hope she would ask loverboy for help."

"Hey!" Avirav's smug smile faded. He walked around the sofa in long strides and grabbed Emilia's arm but before walking a few steps away with her, he warned Ashna, "Don't call me that."

"But that's who you are," she pressed her statement, "lover boy."

Avirav was in the same grade as that of Ivanya in school, twelfth. Ashna was in high school then. He was a very good friend of Ivanya's, the exact opposite of hers though. He was not sweet or frail, but confident and extroverted. A brilliant mind complimented by a hot body.

Rugged, yet soft for Ivanya. Bold, yet calm for Ivanya. Confident, yet nervous in her presence. He was in love with Ivanya.

Avirav let go of Emilia's arm as they stood face-to-face with each other. He whispered to her, "I told you Ashna is a child, don't talk offensive things to her."

Emilia turned her head to look at Ashna. 'Child?' She chuckled, mockingly.

"Why does she call you loverboy though?" Emilia pondered, her eyes fixed on Ashna who was glaring back at her.

She turned to Avirav, "Were you in love with her?" She asked, her eyes wide open in shock and pitiful disgust at her friend.

"No," Avirav denied quickly, irritated. Emilia still glared at him.

"I promise, no, she's like a little sister to me." Avirav tells, his voice soft and persuasive.

"Fine," Emilia releases a breath, crossing her arms as she taps one foot of hers constantly on the floor.

"You know this is important for me, Ivanya is a good friend of mine, I really want your help in this Emi, I want her out of this pit, so please—"

"Fine, fine, I get it, " Emilia cuts him off, "Just how many times are you going to say that."

"Yeah, just don't treat it like any other case of yours, please, " Avirav held on Emilia's arm, expressing seriousness, "be soft and extra careful and invested, please."

"Fine!" Emilia sighed.

"Ms. Ashna, sorry for the disturbance, " she looked at Avirav from the corner of her eye,  "where were we?" She turned to smile at Ashna.

Ashna fixed her gaze at her, her voice firm, "We are doing this out of court, right?" She dragged her gaze briefly to Avirav, trying to analyze him by his reactions maybe, then drew it back at Emilia.

"We know you won't want a court case or something, we are just going to prepare the divorce papers and hand it over to Ivanya. All other times she had asked Shekhar, she could not be firm with her decision, now she would only need to get his signature on the papers, " Emilia walked to sit on the sofa.
