Chapter 3: The Arrest

"Hey, stop right there," Detective Lassiter said, pulling out his gun. The guy stopped running. "I'll search him for the stolen items," Detective O'Hara said. "Go ahead O'Hara," Detective Lassiter said. Detective O'Hara searched the guy and found the necklace and the ring. "Why the hell did you take the items in the first place?" Detective Lassiter asked with an attitude. "Because I wanted to give them to my girlfriend," The guy said. "Well, my friend, you're under arrest for attempted theft," Detective Lassiter said. "Give me that ring," Ashton said. "No man, you don't deserve to get married to that girl," The guy said. "Hey, just give my friend back the ring already," Luke said. "Never!" The guy yelled. "Hey, you give him back that ring right now or I swear to god, I'll pull out my taser and use it on you," Detective Lassiter said. "Fine, it's in my back pocket," The guy said. He couldn't grab the ring as he already had the cuffs on. Detective O'Hara took the ring from the guy's pocket and threw it to Ashton. "Thanks Detective O'Hara," Ashton said. "No problem Ashton," Detective O'Hara said. The detectives took the thief and put him in the car. "You may continue with your party now," Detective Lassiter said. The boys went back on the stage. After they did Teenage Dream, Ashton called Brandie on stage. "Brandie, will you come on stage please?" Ashton asked. Brandie went on stage. "Brandie, we've been together for 5 years, I think it's time I ask you, will you be my Mrs. Irwin?" Ashton asked. "Ashton, of course I will," Brandie said. Ashton slipped the ring on Brandie's finger. "I could just kiss you right now," Ashton said. "Well, why don't you?" Brandie asked. Ashton pressed his lips to Brandie's and everyone in the room, even the other boys were cheering. "What do ya say babe, one more song?" Ashton asked. "Sure babe," Brandie said. "Awesome, I know the perfect song," Ashton said. Ashton was right, Remind Me was the perfect song. "We didn't care if people stared, we'd make out in a crowd somewhere, somebody'd tell us to get a room, it's hard to believe that was me and you," Ashton sang. "Now we keep saying that we're ok, I don't wanna settle for goodnight, great, I miss the way that it felt back then I wanna feel that way again," Luke sang. "It's been so long bet you forget, the way I used to kiss your neck," Michael sang. "Remind me, remind me," Brandie sang. "So on fire and so in love way back when we couldn't get enough," Calum sang. They finished the song and the whole crowd cheered. "Give it up for my fiancée, Brandie," Ashton said. The crowd cheered even louder. "Ashton, wanna take a break from drumming and come get something to drink with me?" Brandie asked. "Sure, wanna come with us guys?" Ashton asked the other boys. "Sure," Luke, Calum, and Michael said. "Ok, hold on," Ashton said. Ashton went up to the microphone. "Attention everyone, we're gonna be taking a little break, but we'll be back," Ashton said. Ashton, Brandie, and the other boys took about a 5 minute break. "Ash, wanna sing the song you wrote for Brandie, since she said yes?" Calum asked. "Sure, I need my box though," Ashton said. "Ok, I'll go get it," Calum said. Calum got Ashton's drum box. "Thanks Cal," Ashton said. "No problem Ash," Calum said. "The next song I'm gonna sing is a song I wrote myself for Brandie," Ashton said. When Ashton finished the song, Brandie was crying. "Are those tears of joy babe?" Ashton asked. Brandie nodded, "I loved the song so much, and I love you Ashton," Brandie said through the tears. "Aww, I love you too Brandie," Ashton said. "Those two are gonna have a long marriage," Calum said. "They sure are, they deserve to get married, they were practically made for each other," Luke said. "Yea, they're perfect for each other," Michael said. "If any couple I know deserves to get married, it's them," Calum said. "Guys, do you think I made the right choice asking Brandie to marry me?" Ashton asked when he rejoined the other boys. "Yes, you two deserve it, you were practically made for each other," Luke said. "Really? Thanks Luke," Ashton said. "No problem," Luke said. "Hey Mikey can I ask you a question?" Ashton asked. "Sure," Michael said. "Great, but I need to ask you in private," Ashton said. Michael and Ashton went to one of the empty rooms in the mansion. "Michael, what I want to ask you is, will you be my best man at the wedding?" Ashton asked. "Sure," Michael said. "Thanks man," Ashton said. "No problem," Michael said. "I bet Brandie's gonna ask her sister Jessica to be her maid of honor," Ashton said. "Probably," Michael said. The boys knew about Brandie's relationship with her sister Jessica.
