10 | Hallway Scuffle

(I started writing this one on the Yugi twin's birthday)

Kou was sitting in class. Science class to be exact. A science class that was usually taught by Tsuchigomori, but today they had a substitute teacher. They said spider-face was sick or something.

Yako wasn't even there. The little white fox usually hung out on the teacher's desk or on a window cil while Spider-Sensei was teaching. Kou just had to try not to pay attention to her too much or Yokoo and Satou, who where giggling and whispering about something behind him, would ask him why he was staring so hard at nothing.

Now that was usually easy, but today there was a different poltergeist hanging around his classroom today. A certain pink guy that hangs out in the mirrors. Mitsuba.

Kou could see Mitsuba in the reflection of the classroom windows. Sitting on the reflection of an empty desk near Kou. With his head down, asleep.

Kou smiled and rolled his eyes in amusement. What was the point of even pretending to attend class with him if he was just gonna go to sleep?

At least it was kinda funny.

In the hallways on his way to his next class, Mitsuba floated at Kou's side trying to argue with Kou.

They picked a pretty vacant, and kinda cold, hallway so that they could talk freely without the judging stares of other, non-ghost-seeing people "I did not go to sleep Mr.Traffic-Safety-Erring! I was up the entire time!"

"But you did! You were snoring too. You were so loud!" Kou retorted "Why do you even do that? Don't ghost not need to breathe anyway?"

"Oh be quiet!" Mitsuba exclaimed "What do dumb wannabe exorcists with poor fashion taste know about ghosts anyway?" Mitsuba challenged

"Wannabe exorcist? Ouch." Kou replied, he wasn't that pathetic. Was he?

"I don't sleep and that's that!" Mitsuba crossed his arms and turned away

"Whatever you wanna believe." Kou just shrugged, not really looking to engage in their usual banter. He didn't have the energy to be honest.

Mitsuba was actually more offended by this then Kou pointing out that Mitsuba fell asleep during the lesson.

Mitsuba flew in front of him, blocking his friend's way. "Hey-" Kou started to say but then Mitsuba cut him of "Oh what? Now you don't even wanna to talk?" Mitsuba questioned pointedly crossing his arms and making a sinister angry face. Or- well- he tried to make one. Kou thought it was adorable but there's no way he'd openly admit it.

"Look Mitsuba- we'll talk later. In the bathrooms with Nene, Akai, and Hanako like usual. But for now you gotta move." Kou said and tried to get around Mitsuba but the mirror ghost just stepped in his way.

"And if I don't?" Mitsuba challenged

"If you don't, I'll be late. And I've already been late a few times this semester." He tried to get around again but Mitsuba stubbornly blocked his way, which only served to farther aggravate Kou

"And if I'm late again-" he tried again to get around, only to be blocked and angered again "-they'll add another tardy to my attendance." And again he tried to get around only to be blocked "but I've already got three tardies, a warning, well- really four tardies- but Spider-Sensei decided to be nice and mark me as on time."
