"Why did you want to leave so badly?" I asked with concern as we walk out to the car.
"Because I did, is that a problem?"
"No I was just wondering because you usually love to party."
"What's that supposed to mean, huh?"
"Nothing I was just saying that you usually like to have fun."
"Get in the car."
"I'm going to drive. Why don't you sit in the passenger seat."
"Oh now you're telling me what to do. You think I didn't hear you're little conversation with Abby and Emma? 'I have to go to daddy for a job.' Oh you mean the job that puts a roof over your head bitch."
"That's not what they meant."
As I try to explain what really happened he comes charging at me.
"Get in the car. NOW!" he screams as he grabs the back of my neck with his hand and shoves me in.
"Ow! You're hurting me! Shawn!?"
"Shut the hell up."
"Please let go of my neck I'm in the car!"
"You think you can talk to me that way? Who made you boss? " he says screaming so close to my face that we have to share the same air. As he pulls away slowly he uses his hand that is not still wrapped around my neck and slaps me across the face. I can feel the blood from where my teeth bit the inside of my mouth, start to ooze. After he slaps me, he finally releases my neck and gets in the driver side of the car. He starts the engine and pulls away from the house. As he pulls out of the driveway I can see Abby and Emma in the doorway staring at me.
"What just happened? Why are you just leaving my house now when you walked out the door 10 minutes ago?" Abby texts me as we leave.
I don't answer because I'm scared Shawn will read my messages if I tell Abby what really happened. So I don't answer and sit in the car holding my cheek without saying a word the rest of the car ride home.
