When I woke up the next time I looked around me and saw that I was actually put on an IV. That said everything because they had to remove my wing a bit and I could see that someone who knew about them moved them a bit. They were laying around my body not completely merged with it but for normal people eyes who didn't know thought it was like tattoos.

Hawks: You up?

Me: Mh...

Hawks: How are you feeling?

Me: Better.

Hawks: Soo dragonfly wings?

Me: ....yeah...

Hawks: Why are you hiding them?

Me: Don't like people to know about them.

Hawks: Ever flew?

Me: Nope.

Hawks: How about I teach you how to fly as an apology.

Me: Not interested.

Hawks: ... Don't tell me you are afraid to fly.

Me: No.

Hawks: Scared of heights?

Me: Yes...

Hawks: Hahahahaha... It's beautiful once you know you are safe.

Me: Ahm... I don't know.

Hawks: Anyways. I got a new healer and they checked you up thanks to that, your fever should be gone.

Me: James really left huh...

Hawks: Yeah he always had something against me and the way I prioritize my work... hence what happened. I am sorry.

Me: I get it.

Hawks: Really... I got an earful from Eraserhead about it as well.

Me: Who?

Hawks: That hobo looking man.

Me: That is a hero?

Hawks: That's what I'm saying!

Me: He looked like a demon.

Hawks: Pfff... better not let him hear you. Anyways, I was free as to get you some new stuff as well as decorate the room a bit while you were sleeping.

Now looking around the room, I saw a lot more stuff in there than yesterday but honestly I didn't really pay a lot of attention to it but the bed was definitely a bit more fluffier than usually or what I remember. There were soo many fluffy things around right now which kinda was unusual.

Hawks: Oh these! I got them after my new healer noted that your wings like Fireflies are sensitive and sensible so I got them.

Me: Thanks.

He really changed...

Must have really gotten an earful.

From the looks of it, he is also trying his best to take care of me from now on...

Guess he isn't experienced with kids at all.

Hawks: I am really sorry for what happened.

Me: How long was I even out?

Hawks: Not long.

Me: And you did all this?

Hawks: Yup. I am the fastest hero after all.

I might give him a chance...

Who knows this might be the best thing ever.

I mean Toko got adopted and isn't staying with them for a short while.

Me: *sigh*

Hawks: Why you sighing?

Me: I don't want to get used to this. So please don't do anything unnecessarily.

Hawks: What you mean?

Me: Well... I mean you will send me back sooner or later.

Hawks: That's what I wanted to do but.... I decided against it. You know this home feels really lonely and all. I also might not be the best father but if you want I can adopt you and give you a fixated place to stay. It's your choice feathers. I am really sorry for what happened.

Oh how baffled I was. Bamboozled even! This was soo insane right now. This was not something I thought would happen like ever! Not to mention that he really was prioritizing work more which meant that most of the times I would be lonely but I would be safe here. Maybe and that is an open maybe, it wouldn't be soo bad here.

Me: Can I think about it?

Hawks: Sure. Sure. Take it easy, I want you to be happy as well.
