Just like most births, the second child of Rhaenyra Targaryen came with many difficulties. The birth was as long as dragon's tail and as painful as all of her other labors put together. However Rhaenyra was a strong fighter, the one that doesn't run from her battles. So she worked hard for the babe to come, and finally in the middle of the night when a full moon was bleeding in the room, a healthy girl with silver hair and brown eyes was born.
"A healthy baby girl, my princes" one of the many maidens said.
"What shall be her name?" The other, older one said, asking the princess, after a little wait so that the princess could find her breath again. She handed, the now clean newborn into the sweaty and bloody hands of the babe's mother."I always wanted to name my daughter Visenya, a fighters name and with the war against me that she came with, sounds like a fitting name" Rhaenyra said smiling at her daughter. "But you my dearest, don't fit for that name, you will be the wise one, the poet and Visenya is no name for a poet" Rhaenyra chuckled, already making prophecies for the child.
"You shall be Jaerionna, a name fitting for a wise princess, that shall fight her battles with words, not swords" the princess declared kissing the calm girl's cheek.
Jaerionna wasn't Laenors child, she was far too pale to be his child, you barely could tell that she was a bastard, different from her brothers, the girl had hair white like the moon herself. But those white locks were curly, not like her mother's and she had brown eyes, brown like chocolate. Jaerionna was Harwin Strong's daughter.
Rhaenyra knew that and she feared for her daughter's future, being a bastard in a royal family is no fun, she saw how much bullying her son Jace and after a few years her son Luke had to deal with. But as Jaerionna grew, the heir to the Iron throne saw that the girl could defend herself and her brothers just well. Perhaps the name Visenya would have been just the right one for the girl... But Rhaenyra didn't regret her choice, she believed the girl to be fighting her battles with words rather than swords.
Although mothers sometimes are wrong and their children don't always grow up to be the people they wanted them to be. But Rhaenyra knew, from the day that the girl was born, that she would always love her daughter, no matter what.
As Jaerionna grew, she indeed got much smarter than any child in Kings Landing. She was as wise as an old priestess, having an answer ready for any question, always keeping her nose in a book. But most importantlly, she was an amazing writer, a true poet. People used to say, that whenever she opened her mouth, poetry went dripping from her tongue like honey. After, all her mother's dreams came true and she had a daughter that would solve all the problems of the kingdom and the throne.
Once people understood the mind that was hidden under the young princess, the smart ones started listening to her, although some others said the girl to be crazy and weird, for she did not act like a normal kid, in fact, she didn't act like any normal royal, instead the girl was free. Jaerionna had been as free as a bird, always doing what she wanted. Laying on a grass field, crying in the godswood, talking to the skull of Balarion the Dread, singing by the fire or going swimming in the sea.
Sadly the girl didn't have a dragon. As much as she wanted one, the egg that has been put in her cradle, never hatched. The girl was a dragonless Targaryen and that meant she was like a bird without wings. Jearionna always wished for a dragon, she longed to fly as high as the clouds and to touch the silver moon and watch the stars every night, she wanted to fly to the north and feel the snow, or to the west and go to the free cities and watch plays and actors that love to laugh out of everyone and everything. But most importantly, she wanted a friend, someone to stand loyally by her side. She wanted the bond with her dragon she knew that her mother had with Syrax and that her brothers were slowly building with their dragons. But she was sure she'll have a dragon when the time is right and when she'll get one, they will be like soulmates.
