After a hard day Victoria sat on the tiles of a building near Big Ben. Elbows on her knees, she gazed at the full moon behind the building indicating the time. Looking thoughtful, she seemed to be waiting for someone. Tiredness beginning to set in, she rested her head on her forearms, without taking her eyes off the great tower. London was even more beautiful in the moonlight. The night and the beauty of the city soothed Victoria despite the coolness of the evening.

From time to time, she lifted her head from her arms to look around and took an interest in the lives of the Londoners crossing the street or the horse-drawn carriages. Impatience began to grip her. She hoped that nothing had happened to her friend. Thinking of him, she heard a noise behind her. She didn't move, just turned her head, her chin to her shoulder. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see part of the figure of the Assassin in the top hat, about to sit down next to her.

"Sorry I'm late," he apologised. Sergeant Abberline's a bit of a talker when he gets down to it," he justified as he sat down next to the brunette.

Jacob's posture was more relaxed than Victoria's. He had one knee bent over the other. He had one knee bent and his elbow resting on it, while his other leg was straight and his other hand, on the tiles, supported his upper body. He turned his head towards Big Ben and the full moon.

"I knew you'd like this view," he smiled almost triumphantly.

"I've never thought of coming here and sitting on it at night since I could climb," she admitted, turning her face to Jacob, who looked around. "But we're not just going to stare at Big Ben and the moon all night?"

"It's up to you," the brunette's colleague retorted, barely moving his hand on his knee.

"And where would we go if I wanted to do something else?"

"I have no idea. We'll improvise," he replied, turning to her.

"Improvisation often turns into a disaster with you," she smiled, amused by the memory of the last time he had improvised.

"If you have a better idea, I listen," he almost invited, challenging her.

Victoria giggled briefly, embarrassed by Jacob's answer and sorely lacking in ideas for prolonging the evening.

"Then we'll just sit here," she concluded. "Shall we just admire the moon?"

"And Big Ben. We shouldn't make him jealous," he joked.

It was stupid, but Victoria chuckled. The Frye twin always had funny, unexpected answers. It was one of the things she liked about him. Shortly after their meeting at the Seven Bells, the two Assassins had become inseparable friends. They made a great duet, one was the driving force behind the other, and the other made the one wiser. Together they formed a kind of balance.

For those who knew them, it was only a matter of time before the two Assassins realised that there was more than just a friendship between them. It had been obvious to Rosie, Thatcher, Evie, and even Henry. It was just a matter of waiting for the revelation to be made between Jacob and Victoria.

Frye and Reid remained silent, both looking at the view under the moonlight and the gas lamps. The dark-haired woman rested her head on her friend's shoulder, tiredness getting the better of her. The latter turned his head slightly without any real reason. He then put his hand on the dark-haired woman's shoulder. He knew she was thinking about something, he could see it in her face despite the little he could see.

"What are you thinking?" he asked.

"I was thinking that if it wasn't for you, I'd probably be doing the pub crawl, drinking like a fish to forget the pain Thomas caused me," she sighed, lowering her eyes.

Without moving his head, the top-hatted Assassin turned his gaze to the night and the lights of the city as his friend and colleague continued to say what was on her mind. He was touched to know that he had such consideration from her. He even smiled unconsciously. His eyes then rested on her.

"I owe you a lot, Jacob," she continued, looking up to see her friend's face. "Thank you for bringing me back to life," she finished with a smile.

The Frye twin did not know what to say to his friend's thanks. He simply kissed the dark-haired woman's forehead and rested his head on hers. Victoria didn't mind not hearing Jacob after what she'd just told him, she'd even appreciated the affectionate act he'd just made. She knew he wasn't used to this kind of speech.

Knowing him well, she had an idea. She raised her head, disturbing Jacob's. He looked at her intrigued because he saw the mischief in the eyes and the smile of the brunette. He knew then that she had something on her mind. Raising his eyes to the sky and with a sigh, he questioned her.

"A little challenge, my dear Jacob," she offered with a large smile.

"You know that every time you give me one, I always end up winning my beer."

"We'll see about that," she gloated. If you make it, I'll buy you two," she added.

Jacob smiled, attracted by the very interesting offer. It was clear that Victoria knew how to talk to him. He told her that he was listening carefully. It was a risky bet for the brunette, but she trusted her instinct. She then asked him if he was capable of kissing her or not. Jacob was surprised at first by this challenge, but he was not embarrassed. He laughed softly and shook his head slowly.

"You've challenged me better," he commented confidently, turning his face towards the city. "But I'll take the dare," he said in a soft voice, looking back at the brunette.

He brought his face close to Victoria's. His lips rested gently on hers. Eyes closed, they shared a tender kiss. The brunette placed her hand on Jacob's jaw, her thumb caressing his cheekbone. They both savoured the pleasant sensation they shared. Victoria was quite surprised at the length of the kiss. She had expected much less, but she was more than pleased.

On the point of running out of air, they parted their lips, but their faces remained close, their foreheads pressed together. This was how they had exchanged their first kiss. They both knew then the feelings they had for each other, which they had never really dared to admit, for fear of rejection or lack of words to describe them. This kiss was a relief for Jacob and Victoria. Moreover, the first once again stuck his lips on those of the second. The brunette was both surprised and happy to have another kiss from the man who had been making her heart beat for some time. She returned this mark of affection as he placed his hand on her cheek. They broke their kiss and looked into each other's eyes again, both smiling.

"I think that's going to upset someone," Jacob remarked in amusement.

Victoria let out a short laugh, her eyes downcast, while the Frye twin kept smiling. When she stopped laughing, she smiled at him, looking into his hazel eyes.

"Thomas Cameron can go to hell."
