chapter three

I am very Good at my work that it made Mrs Meyer's to notice me ; she was compliment me and also if I makes mistake she will tell me; Mrs Meyer's that's what at school I called her but at her makeup studio I call her Regina. She of the three black teachers in the school. She sort of took me under her wing.  It was just like regular morning at school Mrs Meyer's  made an announcement  I will need five of my best student to help me at new York fashion week coming up in few weeks; when the regular client walk in at the school today show me your best soft glam makeup yet. There was whisper around the class; I was more happy cause this could be my breakthrough if I pull it off. Couple of days later the names was up and I was one of them. This is Lara time to shine that was one of the voices in my head say's. After classes all five of us will go to Regina studio to meet with her other makeup artist she has.
Few weeks later; I was at backstage helping out with the makeup for the model's. It was very busy ; different mirror, people calling , dress fitting; Regina walked towards me , tally meet Lara ,  she introduced us to one other, oh my God it tally she is a famous musicians , she's well respected in the industry,  Am big fan of her way before coming to America. I don't want to look like a crazy fan but a professional makeup artist, compose your self Lara I said to myself.  She was absolutely way more attractive in person than all of her pictures I have seen. She said hi to me; I just stood there admiring my fellow woman. Get your self together woman  . One of Regina staff whisper to me.  Lara where are you from tally asked me ; am from south Africa ; oh wow you are very beautiful ; I smile thank you but I was freaking out inside tally said am beautiful . She chatted with me for few minutes before she went to walk on the runway.
We were done with all the madeup it was time for all to leave. A lady walked up to me and give me a small gift bag ;she told me tally asked her to give me.
I was so happy; I got home opened the gift bag there was a card on the back of the card it said call me tomorrow.
I called the number on the card ; it was tally personal number she answered . Hello this Lara speaking you asked me to call you

Hi Lara; I heard alot about you from my aunt Regina; am I need a make up for my next music video and personal makeup. Are you up for it.
Lara; oh my God ; yes am up for it .
Tally; can you see me tomorrow  around 12 , so that we could talk More. I will send you a cab tomorrow. Send me your details.
Lara;
Oh my god , thank you so much . I will send you my details. Bye
I couldn't believe what was happening to me right now.  I took my exam recently to have my license to work as a make up artist, am still hoping for good news.
Regina used to babysit tally back at there neighborhood . That why  she called her aunt. Regina is like her second mom and all of tally makeup has been recommend by Regina.
I got to tally's hotel ,she was staying at the penthouse.you could see the view of the city from the penthouse. We talked for some hours, she give me her do and don't . Plus I have to sign an NDA(non disclosure agreement) I read it and sign it. It dawn on me I have to move to California. Am still hoping for a better results for my exam.
Luckily for me I passed the exam.
You need a license to work as a certified makeup artist in any state in America. With out it you can't  work. I got my license after exam. Thank my mentor Regina Meyer's for everything she did for me . She told me I see the potential of been great in you, keep working hard darling . Keep in touch she told me.
