Soap and Ghost never got to go to the shooting range the next morning. Told to hop on a helicopter right after waking up, they did just that.

Ghost was excited. They finally had another mission after a weeklong wait.

As Ghost and Soap settled into their seats right beside each other on the helicopter, they exchanged a passing look.

Soap looked tired, bags under his eyes, and Ghost couldn't help but feel a little guilty. The Scotsman didn't have to stay up with him last night, but he did anyway.

"You alright, Sergeant?" Ghost asks as the chopper begins to lift off the ground.

"Never better, sir!" Soap replies with a grin, yelling over the sound of the helicopter blades.

As Ghost and Soap exited the stationary aircraft, they were greeted by a man who stood at attention, waiting for their approach. Soap recognized him immediately and greeted him with a warm smile.

"Alejandro..." Soap said with a nod of recognition, giving the man a once-over.

"Sergeant MacTavish, you look tired." Alejandro replied, mirroring Soap's grin. Their natural camaraderie was evident, and Ghost observed the interaction with a hint of curiosity.

Soap and Alejandro shook hands, and as they did, Soap added, "Call me Soap," making it clear that they were on friendly terms. Ghost, however, was slightly taken aback by the informality.

Alejandro turned his gaze toward Ghost, who stood a bit further back, maintaining a reasonable distance. With a serious expression, he greeted Ghost, "Lieutenant... Laswell says they call you Ghost."

"Actually, I believe he prefers to be called—"

Ghost cuts Soap off abruptly. "That'll do," he said loudly, his tone conveying his disapproval of further elaboration. Soap, seemed amused by Ghost's response, backing away slightly, and grinning ear to ear. Ghost simply stared at him disapprovingly, underscoring his desire to maintain a more professional demeanor in their current situation.

Alejandro led the way, walking toward one of the vehicles parked behind him, with Soap and Ghost following closely behind. As they moved, MacTavish attempted to engage in light banter with Alejandro.

"I've never been to Mexico," MacTavish said, trying to inject some humor into the conversation.

Alejandro, however, didn't share his sense of humor. "This isn't Mexico... This is Las Almas," he corrected, gesturing to the arid surroundings with a sweeping motion of his arms.

Ghost wasted no time in transitioning to business mode. "Shepard's contractors are inbound to reinforce. They're bringing hardware; they'll need room," he stated matter-of-factly, prioritizing the mission at hand. While Soap gazed at the desert landscape in wonder, Ghost remained focused on the task ahead.

"My base is your base," Alejandro replied, confirming their welcome.

"Good. Now, where's Hassan?" Ghost inquired, getting straight to the point as they approached the vehicle.

"Cartel safe-house, ten clicks from here. Get in." Alejandro wasted no time, urging the group to move by gesturing at the convoy of vehicles parked behind them. Once they were all settled in the car, he introduced the man who would be driving them.

"This is my second in command, Sergeant Major Rodolfo Parra," Alejandro said as he started the engine.

Rodolfo, their driver, chimed in with a comment in Spanish that Ghost couldn't understand. He had never learned the language, as there had never been a need for it in his line of work. Alejandro found amusement in the situation, glancing back at both Ghost and Soap.
