Once they get to the very top of the hill, Ghost looks out into the canyon below. There was no sign of extraction, and luckily no sign of any more enemy soldiers.

"There's the bridge." Alejandro pointed out into the distance towards a small-looking metal structure. It looked like a miniature version of the Golden Gate back in America.

"No visual on extraction." Soap said, heading down to a small ledge.

"Comm's didn't get through. Motherfucker." Rodriguez snarled, kicking at a couple rocks in anger.

"We'll radio when we're down there." Alejandro put his hand on the guy's shoulder, whispering something to him that makes him calm down slightly.

"This way." Alejandro motions with his hands, and everyone follows. They stop at the edge of a cliff and Ghost looks down to find a ridge jutting out. Perfect for dropping onto.

"Jump down, Sergeant." Soap nods, throwing his gun over his shoulder, and jumps down. He doesn't land as gracefully as Ghost thought he would. The guy lies sprawled out.

"Watch your footing here."

"Thanks." Soap says dryly, standing up after Ghost drops down and offers him a hand.

"These cliffs are dangerous..." Rodriguez murmurs.

"You know your way."

"We used to cut school and play here," Alejandro says humorlessly. Seemed like it wasn't a very good memory for the man.

"Until the cartels moved in?" Soap asked as Ghost jumped to another ledge with a gap in the middle.

"Exactly. The narcos changed everything." They end up at a tiny outcropping, one that you would have to flatten your body against to get across.

Rodriguez goes in front of Soap and Ghost, making his way across slowly. A bullet zips through the air and collides with the rock above Rodriguez's head.

"Sniper! Move!" Ghost shouts, already making his way across the shortened ledge. Another bullet hits Rodriguez in the gut, causing him to fall. His body tumbles down the mountain, hitting rocks with heavy thuds that echo through the canyon.

"Rodriguez!" Alejandro shouts, wide-eyed. He takes out his gun and aims at one of the snipers, shooting at him.

"Snipers down!"

"Bloody good shot, mate!" Ghost says, slightly impressed at the distance of the shot. They finally get across the outcropping, making their way to Alejandro who was already a few meters ahead of them.

They climb up a large boulder, Ghost helping Soap up with a clasp of his hand.

"Army's still trailing us." Soap comments, hearing voices above them. They start running, jumping down another steep ledge. Ghost slides down a particularly steep one. It landed them at a stop, with no way to move forward.

Ghost looks at Alejandro with a hint of worry in his eyes.

"You led us to a dead end mate." Alejandro only shakes his head and then runs off the edge.

"We jump from here! Don't lose your weapons!" His voice grew distant and Ghost looked over the edge and sees Alejandro land into the water.

"Fucking hell..." Ghost jumps, clinging to his rifle since his life depended on it. Soap followed soon after. There was a brief rush of air and then water flooded his senses. He swims to the surface of the river, struggling to breathe with his mask soaked through.
