Miya's POV
As Y/n and Nishimura's relationship progressed, I found myself feeling more alone and envying him. I had no reason, but every time I saw their Instagram posts, it made me feel lonely. They looked so happy together. Y/n teaching him how to skateboard, him teaching her how to play basketball, them going to basketball games together, it seemed like they had the perfect relationship. I mean, half of it was due to Y/n being the perfect girl.
I decided to go to Sia la Luce to get my mind off of things.
"How's school going?" Joe asked me. "It's going good" I replied bluntly. "I've known you for five years, I know when something's bothering you" he replied to me. "You know why I'm upset" I replied to him. "Come on Miya, you need to accept the fact that she's dating someone now" Joe said to me. "I don't wanna accept it Joe! I want to be Nishimura right now! I want to be Y/n's boyfriend, I know I love her more than he does!" I yelled.
I heard the door open and Langa was standing there speechless.
"I'm sorry-" "I can go if you want me to" Langa cut me off. "No, it's fine...stay" I calmed myself down a bit. "How do you know you love her more?" Joe kept calm. "Why are you asking me a question you know the answer to?" I asked him. "I may know the answer, but you might not know why, so how do you know that you love her more?" he asked again. "I've known her longer, I'm always there for her, I don't force her to go places with me" I explained. "He forces her to go to his basketball games?" Joe asked me. "Well..." I was going to say something. "Don't let your jealously get to you" Joe said. "That's easier said than done" I said. "Anyways...you want some gelato?" Joe changed the subject. "Yes!" I saw the stars in Langa's eyes.
Joe scooped ice cream for the two of us.
"So Langa, what brings you here today?" Joe asked. "I need some advice" he said. "About?" Joe asked. "The restaurant industry" he replied. "Can you elaborate?" Joe asked. "I don't know if I wanna open a restaurant or become a private chef" Langa said. "Well if I'm being honest, a private chef might pay more but if you want to open a restaurant for you, then do it" Joe explained. "I don't know which one I want to do" Langa said. "Well you can find a private chef to intern for and maybe a good looking, six foot one, green haired, owner of an Italian restaurant can help you out" Joe said, talking about himself. "You'd do that?" Langa asked. "Of course, I'll always look out for you guys" he replied.
That was the best thing about Joe, he was always willing to help us no matter how complicated our dilemmas were. Once I finished my ice cream, I got a text.
Sōma Nishimura
yo y/n gave me your #
stop talking to my gf u cant be trusted"Oh hell no" I said out loud, trying my hardest not to get mad. "What happened?" Joe asked.
I showed him my phone, I never said anything about Y/n and Nishimura yet he wanted to get like this.
"He did not type that up and send that to you" Joe was pissed.
Y/n's POV
I went over to Sō's house like usual.
"Sō I'm here!" I called out to him.
No response. I was a little confused because I knew he was home. I took off my shoes and made my way to his room.
"Sōma, didn't you hear me?" I asked him, before trying to give him a kiss on the cheek.
He backed away when I got close.
"Why are you acting so weird?" I asked him. "I'm not acting weird" he denied. "Um...you didn't respond to me when I came inside and you're not letting me get near you" I explained. "Well maybe it's because you've been talking to Chinen!" Sōma yelled at me. "What's wrong with talking to my best friend?" I asked him. "I don't trust him, that's why!" he got up.
I took a step back.
"Why don't you trust him?" I asked. "You two are too close" he replied. "He's my best friend, I've known him since I was thirteen" I explained to him. "You two have this bond, I feel like you're too engaged into him" Sōma said. "What are you talking about, the last time I called him was two weeks ago. Stop being so insecure!" I yelled at him.
He looked like he changed after I said that.
"Me? Insecure? Why would I be the insecure one in this relationship?" he asked. "What are you talking about?" I asked him. "Oh please, you're the one who was all over me before the relationship even started" he said. "What did you want me to do? Act like I wasn't interested, because right now I really wish I wasn't interested" I replied to him. "So you're not interested in me anymore?" he asked me. "No, I just don't like this, you're being irrational" I said to him. "I have my reasons to be paranoid!" he yelled louder.
I backed away and started getting shaky.
"I'm telling that you shouldn't be, yet you continue to yell at me" my voice cracked. "You're a liar, I get why your dad left you" Sōma said to me.
Those words broke me. My father left me before I was even alive and he knew nothing, yet Sōma decided to use that against me. In that moment I felt so disrespected.
"What did you say to me?" I asked him. "Your father probably didn't want a daughter like you!" Sōma continued to yell at me. "Don't you dare say anything about that man, I never considered him my fucking father!" I yelled at him.
I made my way to the door.
"Where are you going?" Sōma held onto my wrist tight. "Away from you" I said to him. "Fine go run to Chinen!" he squeezed my wrist tighter. "Maybe I will! I've known him for five years and yet he's never said anything about that man. I date you for three months and you ruin things, it's over Sōma" I left his house for good.
I would never go back to that place.
