Y/n's POV
At around nine the following night, I started getting ready for the party. I put on a neon pink mini skirt and a white tank top with some blazers with pink check marks. Once I was ready, I tried to sneak out the door.
"Where are you going dressed as a modern mean girl? Don't you dare say something stupid like studying cause I'm not an idiot, I used to be a lot more rebellious" my mother questioned everything. "I'm going to a party" I let out a defeated breath. "Is Miya gonna be there?" she asked. "Yeah" I replied to her. "Okay, have fun and don't do anything illegal" my mom said. "What?" I asked her. "I trust you two" she gave me a small smile.
Without asking many questions, I left the house and headed to this party. Was it a little embarrassing to admit that this was the first party I was going to? Miya and I came up with an agreement: no babysitting each other, but we'd take the other home if anything happened. It seemed pretty fair since we were pretty responsible and we'd still have a good time. I got a text on my phone.
😼 Miya 💚
u here yet???
omw
I opened the door to the house and the music was so loud that my body was shaking a bit. Most of the people there were second and third years and a few first years. There was a lot going on. I saw some people in a circle chugging beers and I saw some other people playing beer pong. There was some guy recording everything on Instagram Live, another girl trying to start fights so she could post it on Twitter for clout and there were some people doing vape tricks. It was chaotic...in a fun way.
I saw Miya hanging out with some people. He was wearing off white dickies and his baby pink heartbreakers club shirt. I noticed a red cup in his hand.
"Oh hey Y/n" he said to me. "Hey...who are these guys?" I asked. "They go to school with us, they're in that algebra class" he explained. "...oh" I replied to him. "Wanna sip?" Miya asked me. "No...I'm actually gonna go dance, you do you...just remember the promise" I added. "Okay I gotchu" he said.
I made my way to the dance floor and saw Sayaka.
"Oh my god Y/n, I wouldn't expect to see you here" she smiled at me. "Is it cause of the breakup?" Sayaka asked. "What are you talking about?" I spoke a little loudly. "He posted it on his story yesterday" she said. "Oh really?" I asked her. "Yeah" she replied to me.
I pulled out my phone and opened Snap. I saw Sōma's story.
'I dumped her ass 🤣' was the caption with a selfie of him and the basketball team. I rolled my eyes and closed my phone. I was gonna go find him but Saya held onto my arm.
"Don't look for him, that's what they want. I know those basketball boys better that you" she explained.
I gave her a small nod.
"Let's dance" she said to me.
Saya put her hand around my shoulder and we danced to the music and things just felt good. Although I had just gotten dumped the night before, I was feeling amazing. I was singing and dancing and just having the time of my life.
"This is so fun, you should get out more" Sayaka said to me. "I should" I replied to her. "Why don't you?" she asked. "I don't know, I guess I just really don't have the interest" I replied. "Well maybe tonight can change things" she smiled at me.
That really had me thinking, what would happen if I went out more?
"I'm thirsty, come with me to get a drink" she dragged me to the kitchen.
I watched as she downed a bottle of rosé. I opened a can of Coke and sipped on it. I then felt someone tap on shoulder, I was under the impression that it was Miya.
"Excuse me, I was wondering if you'd like to dance" I turned around and saw a guy who was about six feet.
He had a wolf cut with highlights and he was wearing a black tee shirt with a white button down over it. I had to admit, he was pretty cute. I looked over at Sayaka and she was trying to hide a smile.
"Sure" I put down my coke and took his hand. "I've never seen you around" he said to me while putting his hands on my waist. "Neither have I, what school do you go to?" I asked. "Kamisaki High" he replied. "That explains it" I replied to him. "Enough of that small talk, what's your name?" he was direct. "Y/n, you?" I asked. "Akimitsu, but you can call me Mitsu" he smiled after every sentence.
I felt myself squealing internally. My luck tonight was amazing, a cute guy asked me to dance and he really wants to know me.
Miya's POV
I saw Y/n dancing with some guy and I wasn't gonna deny being jealous, I took a huge gulp of rum and then I reached for something else.
"Hey man, take it easy" Shion said to me. "One more beer" I said to him. "Fine" he gave in.
Shion tossed me a can and I chugged it like it was soda.
"Hey man I said to take it easy!" he slightly raised his voice. "My bad" I replied to him. "It's pinky over there, isn't it?" Shion asked me. "Y/n?" I asked. "You're the one who dragged her here, and you two have a promise" he mimicked Y/n's voice.
I rolled my eyes at him.
"You have a chance with her, she just got out of a relationship" Shion said to me. "Yeah...but everyone wants her and I can't blame them" I said to him. "I've been to a lotta parties, it's always the same, they dance for a bit, maybe make out and then they forget about each other" Shion explained. "Y/n's not like that" I replied to him. "Are you 100% sure?" he asked.
