-"Baby I promise I'll be here tonight," I watched Miguel walk away slowly and fading into the distance.
I was screaming for him to come back but no matter how loud I tried to be, he could not hear me. Then there was gun fire, I ran towards the gunshots but my feet weren't moving. I kept pushing to go faster but it was no help.
"Jessie, baby turn around its not safe here," I could here Miguel crying out in pain but the more I ran to get to him the further he got. I heard more gunshots, but they were so close, my ears were ringing. I looked down to see a pool of blood and my clothes covered in it.
That wasn't what brought me to my knees, it was who I saw. I scooped him in my arms, I could feel the hot tears running down my face. He reached up to wipe my tears away," baby don't cry, I'm fine," he said giving me a weak smile," I love you baby," then he faded away, and I whispered "always and forever.""-
My eyes shot open, I blinked a couple times to make sure I was really awake. Realizing it was just a dream I sat up in my bed and look over to my alarm clock, seeing that it was 6 in the morning. I only had an hour to get ready and get to school. I got up and head to the bathroom to do my morning routines.
I pulled on some black sweatpants and top, with a black hoodie and converse. Grabbing my bag I headed towards the front door.
"Jessie? Is that you?" My mother called out from the dinning room.
"Yeah, I'm heading to the bus stop," I said.
"Are you sure I can give you a ride before I have to take your sister," she said getting up from the counter and walked over to me.
"Nah, it's okay mom, I'll see you later," I said giving her a quick kiss on the cheek and headed out the door.
Walking down the steps I saw my car coming into view and the guy leaning against it, "I thought you weren't gonna go to school," he said shifting on his feet.
"What would you have done If I didn't come down?" I told him with a smirk.
"I guess look like dumbass," he said with a small chuckle.
"Well come on tonto (dummy), I'll drive," I said laughing and getting in the car.
The drive to school was silent and the only thing you could hear was the radio playing. I reached over to turn up the volume but Oscar took my hand in his, giving it a light kiss. I was so caught off guard I didn't know if to snatch my hand away or leave it to not make it more awkward.
"Jessie are you okay?" Oscar asked and from the corner of my eye I could see a smile playing on his lips. What an ass, he's doing this on purpose, well two can play at that game.
Pulling into the school parking lot, I parked and turned off the car. I look over at Oscar and smiled, making his smile grow bigger. I unbuckled my seatbelt and crawled over into his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck, Resting my head on his shoulder and letting my lips lightly brush against his neck. his arms immediately went around my waist, holding me in place.
"Yeah I'm good, are you," I said smiling at the way he was getting nervous, hopefulling catching on the second meaning.
"Uh, y-yeah I'm better t-than good," he stuttered over his words.
"Are you sure about that?" I asked rubbing my nose up his neck causing him to get goosebumps.
His hold around my waist tighten and I couldn't help but giggle," w-what's funny?" He asked his voice getting deeper than usual.
"It's not funny getting messed with is it," I said nipping at his ear, and moved off his lap quickly. Grabbing my bag from the backseat I step out the car still laughing. Oscar didn't move for a minute still in shocked from my stunt, which made me laugh harder.
