KRYSTAL'S POV

"I NOW CONGRATULATE YOU CLASS OF 2008!" Cheered principal James.

The whole arena cheered for us. This moment felt so surreal, that in any moment I would wake up and find myself asleep in class.

Everyone started to throw their caps in the air, like What you see in the movies but I wasn't going to do that and then it come up missing.

"I wish you the best in your futures and have an awesome summer!" Principal James hollered into the microphone.

"Ugh! Finally," I heard someone say from beside me.

I look to find Oscar there and dressed in a cap and gown. I was stunned to see him cleaned up and actually look formal for once.

"What?" He asks with an annoyed look.

"I thought you were in the same grade as Jessie?" I said.

He let's out a laugh and shakes his head, "I am this belongs to Oso."

"Then why are you dressed up?" I asked, looking at him confused.

"Lost a bet," he shrugged.

"Uh huh," I mumble.

"Come on let's go, everyone us waiting," he says grabbing my wrist and dragging me through the crowd.

My heart was pounding and my palms were sweating from how nervous I was today. But now the pounding was because I was hoping to see Jessie here on my big day. After the last day of school she has been so busy with Salazar, that I didn't even have time to talk or see her. This whole thing with Salazar was getting on my last nerve. I'm tried of feeling that I'm in competition with Salazar for Jessie's attention. Hopefully this one time I had a chance and I can celebrate this moment with her.

When we reached Where my mother and the crew was at, I was greeted with cheers and whistles. My eyes immediately scanned the crowd of faces but none that I really wanted to see. I was pulled into death grip hug and sobs echo through my ear.

"I'm so proud of you mija," my mother said, as she loosened her grip on me.

"Thanks mami," I said smiling at her.

My eyes look at the people behind her and I still don't see her. Where is she?

"Hey," Omar says grabbing my atention, "Jessie wanted me to give you this."

He hands me a gift card and a pink rose. I take them and give a nod of thanks but I still feel empty in someway. This was a nice thought but I just wished it was her giving me this.

"Well let's get going. I have food ready at home," my mother said happily and hugged Omar.

Her happiness at the moment was sickening and I just wanted to scream at her.

I follow behind them and towards Omar's car. His car was small but smelled way better than Oscar's weed aroma truck. But I didn't want to be around my mom and her lovey dove stuff.

"Hey Ima catch a ride with Oscar," I say as I nod towards Oscar, whom was walking in the other direction.

"Okay?" My mom says as confused as I am.

I give her a quick nod, turn on my heels and bolt.

"Hey! Wait up!" I yell for Oscar.

He turns around and seemed confused as to why I was following him.

"What's up?" He asked.
