It had felt like only a minute had passed since her head hit the pillow when a loud knock woke her up. A click sound could be heard and the door swung wide open. The Commander stood there in the doorway.

"Get up. Be down in five." His words were short, direct, and to the point. He didn't sound angry or rude though. The door was closed again but there was no sound of the door being locked.

It took a few seconds to get out of her coma like sleep daze to recall everything that had happened. Finally after being rested her brain came alive and questions started to flood her mind.

Where exactly is this place? Why am I here? Who is he? What is going to happen to me? What happened to the others? He just called me to come downstairs...why? What will happen?

The only way to find out was to go downstairs. Mira put on her hair in a low bun with her only hair tie, put on her jean shorts, and washed her face. She decided not to put on her shirt because it had blood, dirt, and smelled horrible. Be ready for anything Mira.

Bracing herself she opened the door. The house was silent but she could hear he was downstairs. Her small feet stepped down the stairs quietly and softly. At the bottom of the stairs she was able to get a good look at the cabin. There was a large open kitchen with an island. Stools were lined up on one side of the island. The other side of the room was a big living room with a few couches and bookshelves lined the walls. Across from where she was standing was an open door and by the sound of it he was in that room.

Not really sure of herself she made her way across the room until she reached the open doorway. This room was definitely an office. There were cabinets, a few chairs, and a big desk. He was sitting at the desk looking at a few papers while writing stuff down. The one thing that stood out to her about this place was the lack of electronics. There was no tv, no computer in his office, and no phone so far.

He glanced up at her for a second before speaking. "Eat." He nodded his head towards her but his eyes were looking past her.

Mira turned around to look in the direction he was looking at. On the island was a large bowl and a glass of water. She walked up to discover it was full of a thick stew and steam was billowing upward. The smell of the warm stew woke up her stomach. She was absolutely starving.

She checked her back before pulling herself up on one of the tall stools and digging in. The stew was absolutely divine. There was some type of meat that was unknown but she didn't care. The bowl was massive but she devoured it in a flash. Mira was too hungry to be aware of the eyes that were watching her intently. Her body seemed to sigh another heave of relief. Her eyes wandered a bit after finishing the stew. Damn this place is immaculate. There isn't a spot of dust to be seen. I should probably wash this bowl and cup.

Mira slid off the stool and went into the kitchen. She washed the bowl, spoon, and cup. There was a drying rack of dishes so she decided to put them there. The clock on the oven caught her attention. 3:45pm. Is that right? So wait, I slept from yesterday night until today afternoon??

"Follow me."

His sudden deep voice so close to her almost made her drop the cup she was still holding. When did he get so close to me? Damn he is quiet. I need to be more alert in this place. These guys are huge but move so quietly.

She whirled around but he was already heading for the front door. She started after him with a quick pace to try and keep up. Still barefoot she grimaced at the muddy sight outside. The heavy rain yesterday caused all the paths to have at least an inch of mud over them. Having no other option she followed behind him. Normally being barefoot didn't bother her but she had some scrapes on her feet and the mud caused them to sting.
