*One week later*
The sun's rays shone through the treetops signaling it was around noon. Mira decided to take a break and eat some lunch next to a small clear water brook nestled in the forest. She sat down and stretched her body a bit while munching on an apple and raw veggie mix that was packed.
Her mind wandered aimlessly as she ate in the peaceful setting. Suddenly a twig snapped off in the distance and caught her attention. Mira froze mid bite and fine tuned her senses in that direction.
It's a Grizzly.
She leapt to her feet, threw her food in a nearby bush, and took off running in the opposite direction. Mira was very good at running with very little noise but the person started running in her direction not soon after she attempted to make her escape.
She felt her adrenaline rise as she raced through the trees, trying to loose whoever was on her tail. There were too many factors at play to try and fight whoever off. Mira went racing around a bend and through some thick brush. She ran straight into a figure on the other side of the bush and scared them both.
The force of Mira's body caused the person to fall backwards and for her to trip over them. The person cursed in Old Norse and Mira felt a panic to escape as quickly as possible and hoped they didn't recognize her yet. She noticed right away that there was another person to her right and they quickly advanced towards the tumbling scene.
As Mira picked herself up from tripping over the guy, she managed to grab a rock from the ground and throw it sideways to throw the advancer off guard. The rock hit it's target on their shoulder as they tried to dodge it.
Mira started to run but the guy on the ground grabbed her foot causing her to fall on the ground.
"Mira!"
Mira didn't hear anything above the panic to escape rising inside. She quickly rolled herself over to a sitting position and swiped her knife outward towards the guy who grabbed her foot behind her.
"Woah woah Mira stop!! It's me, stop!" The guy released her foot and jerked himself backwards to avoid her knife.
Mira turned her knife up towards the guy who was standing and finally got a good look at him. She was breathing deeply trying to calm the drowning adrenaline.
"Bo..." She breathed out. and looked at the guy who was still on his knees but farther away from her. "Alex...?"
"Yeah that's me." He rubbed his chest where she had rammed into him with her head.
Mira stayed still but felt extremely tense. Were they hunting for her to turn her over to King Magnus? Would they be willing to help her? If not, could she over power them and make her escape?
Have some confidence, woman. You are a blood moon wolf. She scolded herself internally. You would think after a week of training with the most powerful Seer would have boosted her confidence but studying and actual field work are two very different things.
At that moment, the pursuer who made Mira run in the first place came through the thick brush and made his appearance.
"Ivan?"
Ivan looked a little winded and worn out but that was replaced with relief when he saw Mira. "Thank the gods." He said before hurrying over and kneeling by Mira's side. "Are you okay little wolf?."
Mira nodded slightly. She felt a bit more at ease seeing how happy Ivan was in finding her and a ray of hope lit inside her.
Ivan sat back on the ground on his butt. "We have been searching high and low for you and not a trace from you has been found by anyone."
