*THREE YEARS PRIOR THE ACCIDENT*
These past few days, Jamie hasn't stayed home. It's hard waking up him not beside me, but he has a job and I too. Business is business, so I don't have the right to complain to him because I'm the one who pushed myself to live and be with him. Although, we haven't had a normal conversation except our 'hellos' and 'goodbyes.' I think I'm going crazy, but this is not the relationship that I signed in for.
I definitely did not know that when we both got together, we will have normal happy lives, getting together in the evening, cooking dinner, watching late night shows. I thought that was it. Well, I thought wrong. We're starting to part ways and I don't want that.
I haven't talked to Ashley nor Logan. Ashley has been ignoring me, for she's too distracted and hungover since her last one night stand because her and the guy starts to make it serious. For me, I am honestly happy, but she's starts dodging me, cancelling our dinners for our get together, but she's too busy fucking the guy.
On the other hand, Logan is busy handling the business his parents left him. We both want to talk about our life, but we're too busy. Whenever I'm free, he has a a meeting and he can't cancel it, and vise versa for me.
I couldn't talk to Alec because he's somewhere in the world, promoting gender equality and showing poor countries how to use the latest gadgets his company makes to make irrigation better. While, Hadley is on her final year of studying, which is so a relief because I can stop giving her money for her needs. My parents wants me to give her money because they think they give me a ton whenever our paychecks arrive. I can't argue anything, so I just do what they say and give Hadley her weekly allowance.
I wait for Logan to arrive at this local coffee shop that where we usually meet and talk. We finally find a date that no meetings would destroy because we planned this day for week. We're just going to talk and catch up like normal friends do.
I just had my second coffee cup to keep me warm from the cold October breeze and suddenly, hear the bell ring, signaling the door opening. I look and see Logan walk in. I smile and give him a small wave. He orders coffee first before sitting down with me.
"Hi, Lo," I say, as he sits down across me. "I missed talking to you."
"Aw," he replies, mustering up the courage not to chuckle. "I missed you too, Go."
I take a sip from my caramel latte. "What do you want to talk about?" He asks, rubbing his hands on the cup to have the warmth he needs.
"You know, the usual," I plainly reply, making him frown.
"He hasn't had a serious talk with you?" I nod in response and he shakes his head is disagreement. I look at my cup and sigh.
"I talked to Ash about our kiss," he mentions that makes me shoot my head up and look at him. I furrow my eyebrows at him and let out an exasperating sigh.
"She has time to talk to you now?" I let out, slouching back at the chair. "I know you two are awkward exes, but now, she has the audacity to talk to you and not to me!" Logan opens his mouth, but closes it again, afraid to tick the timer of the bomb I have.
"Whatever, " I say, straightening my posture again and put my chin on the palm of my hand. "Come on, Logan, that happened three years ago. Why would you tell her? You know, she's busy with her new boyfriend."
"I know, but-"
Everything stops. My heart beat quickens and the blood on my veins starts to pump faster and faster, it's like I'm about to explode in any second. I can't hear Logan's voice anymore, it's blurred, like I suddenly become deaf because I see Jamie and Ashley holding hands across the street. They both suddenly stop and kiss.
