Chapter 31

Hope's POV
After seeing everyone and giving them their little gifts, I started to head back to campus. As I walked through town, I soaked it all in and realized how much I missed this town. I know there is usually a lot of people around and loud music playing but this is where I grew up. It's my home and coming back after being gone for awhile, always feels right, even though I would love to live somewhere else for a while to see new places. I was just enjoying my time but that soon came to an end when I heard a familiar voice.

"Well if it isn't little Mikaelson." I hear and turned around, ready to face her.

"Alyssa." I said softly, trying to sound like I was brave and I was but sometimes around her it was hard.

"So how's that Josie girl?" She asked me. Why is she asking about her?

"Why the hell would I tell you anything?" I asked her and gave her a smile but it was a friendly one obviously, but a sarcastic type.

"Because I just wanted to check up on the bitch who broke my nose!" She started off talking normally, leading into yelling the last part.

"Yeah well you deserved it. And Josie is not a bitch, but you are." I say, defending my girlfriend. Alyssa can say anything about me but I won't let her say something about Josie.

"Oh but she is. She is a bitch and I am going to get my revenge." She is really pissing me off right now. "I'm sure she's self centered, and a user."

"Josie is a sweet, caring, kind hearted person. She is not a bitch. She is not self centered and she is most definitely not a user, unlike you." I say confidently as I moved closer to her.

"Oh come on Hope. She is probably just dating you for your money and popularity."

Wait.. what did she just say? H-how the hell does she know?

"You're probably wondering how I know about your little girlfriend huh?" She asked with a smirk on her face. "You know I have my ways."

She has her ways? By that I assume she's used Maya or Dana as her little spy. Not to be confused with a stalker like L.. I can't even think of his name. But she probably sent one to spy on me after she saw me with Josie. They get what they need and then go running back to Alyssa to tell them what they found out. I can't believe she found out. Of all the people to find out?!

"Speechless huh? Just a little reminder, she will pay." Alyssa said with a smirk before walking off.

I waited until she was gone before I walked the rest of the way home. I knew something would happen if Josie was a part of my life. I will definitely keep her safe. I can't let Alyssa do something to her. Josie means the world to me and I won't let Alyssa hurt her. Damn it! Why can't she just leave me alone and let me live my life?! Eventually I got home and headed to my room. I just needed a moment alone. It didn't take long before I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." I said softly, knowing who it was. She must've saw me walk in and go straight to my room. She opened the door and peeked her head in before walking in and closing the door.

"Hey, how was your family?" She asked me but I knew she really wanted to ask what was wrong.

"They're great. They said hi and my mom and dad teased some too." I tell her and chuckled softly.

"I bet they really missed you huh?" She said with a smile.

I gently nodded my head. The next thing I know, I feel her grab my hands. I looked up at her and smiled softly.

"Then what's wrong?" She finally asked. I knew she wanted to ask that before the other question but she didn't want to jump into it.

"It's nothing. I'm fine." She knew I was lying and I knew it because of the look she gave me.
