Lizzie's POV
As we walked to a place to eat, I wondered why Klaus Mikaelson and Hope were joining us. I mean I get Hope a bit more because of Josie, but her dad? There is clearly something I'm missing. I hear mom and Mg talking. I know they're trying to get to know each other, but it's definitely weird. She better not say anything about me that would embarrass me in front of Mg. Hope and Jo were talking with Klaus so I was just on my own, with my thoughts. Okay I need to know now.

I pulled Josie to the side to talk to her and she looked at me, looking a bit annoyed that I interrupted her conversation.

"What Lizzie?" She asked as we kept walking but at a bit of a distance now from the others.

"Okay I need to know the truth. You're hiding something, spill." I say and watch as her face change from annoyance to fear? Oh she thinks I mean her and Hope dating doesn't she?

"W-what are you talking about Lizzie? I'm not hiding anything." She said, sounding unconvincing.

Yeah I already know about her and Hope but that's not what I wanted to know.

"Why is Hope's dad joining us? Does he has something he want to talk to mom about us?" That was my first thought. Maybe something happened and he wants to talk to a parent about us? But I don't remember doing anything that could get us kicked out.

"Oh that! Uh yeah about that." Josie said and chuckled nervously.

"Turns out mom and Mr. Mikaelson, knew each other in the past. And even almost dated." She managed to get out.

Wait?! They had a thing?! And she never told us?!

"What the hell?!" I yelled and everyone stopped to look at us.

"Everything okay Elizabeth?" Mom asked me.

"You and Mikaelson had a thing?!" I watched as mom and Mr. Mikaelson looked at each other, a bit nervous. Hope looked to Josie who shrugged her shoulders. Mg just looked confused.

"We didn't exactly have a thing. We liked each other when we were teenagers but we never did anything about it. That's all. I never told you girls because I didn't want you two to think I helped you get into the school because I knew the headmaster." Mom explains and I rolled my eyes.

"You still could've said something." I said and arched an eyebrow at her.

"We were going to tell you, once we got the chance." Mom said.

"Ugh, let's just go to lunch. If I can even eat after learning about this." I say and motion at mom and Mr. Mikaelson.

I hear the conversations continue from behind me as I walk past everyone and keep walking down the sidewalk.

"You okay Lizzie?" I hear Mg ask as he caught up to me.

"Yeah, just shocked I guess." I say and sighed softly. I don't get it but this guy just knows how to break through my walls.

"It's a big surprise definitely." He said as I feel his hand grab a hold of mine.

"But all of our parents have pasts and we don't know everything about their pasts and we may never know the whole story either." He said, trying to make me feel better.

"Yeah I know." It's not the only surprise I've gotten recently. First Hope and Josie and now my mom and Mikaelson? I guess they have something in common thought. They both couldn't resist falling for a Mikaelson and I honestly don't see how.

"It's a small world I guess." He said and smiled at me. Yeah too small sometimes.

We made it to the restaurant and waited just a few minutes to be seated, even though it was crowded. I assumed it was because Mr. Mikaelson is known throughout New Orleans and get special treatment in some places. I mean he does run one of the biggest schools in New Orleans, so it makes sense. Sometimes I think people can be so snooty when it comes to being ahead of others, but him, I know he worked hard to get to where he's at. Plus it isn't his fault, he grew up in a rich family who happened to open a school. Usually I would have something to say about it, but since I was apart of his party, I kept quiet. For once, I felt like one of those snooty people.
