Josie's POV
We headed towards Mr. Mikaelson's office so mom could see him again. It's crazy that they knew each other in the past. Come to think of it, if mom had given him the chance, they may still be together today. And if they were still together today, Hope would have never been born. Lizzie and I probably would have been because Caroline wasn't our actual mom. If Hope had never been born, I wouldn't have gotten the chance to be with an absolutely amazing person. One I don't know if I can live without. I may have lived without her before but now that she's in my life, not having her would make everything different."You okay Jo?" Hope asked and looked at me. I hadn't realized that I had grabbed her hand and was squeezing it.
"Yeah. I'm fine." I said and smiled at her.
We headed into the office together and mom waited outside so we could introduce her.
"Hey dad." Hope said and I see her smile. A beautiful smile that I could never get tired of looking at.
"Hi princess. What brings you two here?" Hope's dad asked as he got up and walked over to give Hope a hug. If I knew they hadn't just seen each other a couple of hours ago, it would look like they haven't seen each other in months, by the way he hugged her.
"Dad, you saw me earlier. You don't have to squeeze me that hard." Hope said and sounded like she was being squeezed to death.
"Besides we have a surprise for you." Hope said and smiled at her dad. This time I smiled with her and nodded my head.
"What surprise?" He asked and raised an eyebrow at us.
"Someone you haven't seen in awhile. You can come in now." Hope said, as we both looked towards the door.
I could tell mom was hesitant because she hasn't stepped in yet. Once she walked in, she looked at Klaus and smiled at him.
"Well I'll be damned. If it isn't Caroline Forbes." I hear Hope's dad say and walk past us to stand in front of my mom.
"Hello Klaus. It's good to see you again." Mom said. Both Hope and I just watched them.
"It's good to see you too love." Klaus said and smiled at her.
"What brings you here though?" He asked her.
"To see my girls." Mom said and looked at me with a smile and I smiled back.
"Your girls? Wait the twins?" He asked. So he didn't know?
"Yeah. Well technically I'm just their surrogate mother, it's a long story." My mom explains to him.
"How about we give them some privacy to catch up a bit?" Hope said and pulled me out of the office, closing the door behind us.
"Hey are you okay?" Hope asked me. I looked at her and nodded my head.
"Yeah why?" I asked wondering what she meant.
"Earlier, you just grabbed my hand and squeezed it a little tight. I just wanted to make sure you were alright." Hope said and I smiled softly at her.
"Oh that. It was nothing." I said softly. By the way she looked at me, she knew I wasn't exactly telling the truth. How does she do that? She knows me too well.
"Alright, I was just thinking about something." I said and looked down to avoid eye contact.
"About what babe?" Hope asked saying one of those nicknames that always drives me crazy.
"If my mom and your dad did end up together.. you wouldn't have been born and I would have never met you. And just the thought of that, scared me a bit." I said softly.
