Maaz didn't know how to react. When the adhan fell on his ear, his steel grey eyes pinned outside his window, the dawn was here. The chirping of the birds were melodious and the light blue sky was peaceful to look at. The huge tree outside, the one in the middle of their huge ground caught his eyes. The trunk of that tree reminded him of Patralekha, and the memories that's connected to that tree was very prominent. That was the place where she proposed him for the second time. The first time, it was over the phone. She once jokingly said that she'll marry him and at that time he thought she was joking. He threw that thought away.

She has always been bold, confident, insensitive, ruthless with her words, mean and so many other things. She never even once considered his feelings, whether or not he wants this union, it was always about her. He didn't hide this from his parents too. They saw how stressed he was when she sent her proposal. She never said anything about her parents, ever. And she's the one who sent her own proposal to his parents.

His parents are very open minded but seeing his displeasure with Patralekha, they started seeing her as someone who forced their son. How? Well, she's a powerful woman. She has always been. So she managed to kidnap his sister Safa and threatened them with their daughter. Maaz was so frustrated and in rage at that time that he went ahead and got married to her. Much to her satisfaction and then she released his sister then.

Since then Safa hates the sight of her. And she managed to tick all of his family members with a blank ink in her name after that incident.

After they got married, she was like any other normal wife. He didn't used to take her as his wife because he doesn't believe in anything that's forced. But he couldn't ignore how she was slowly changing. The Patralekha he used to know was flirty, open minded and funny. But slowly she started getting more possessive, crazy and obsessed with him. Though she never expressed them in words, he could see that change pretty well.

The change was so prominent that his family got scared. They knew she was the crazy type, and seeing this change they become more scared. She's the fearless type of a woman. She deals with criminals and various other dangerous things on a daily basis. She had increíble communication skills so it wasn't hard to guess she had people behind her back.

But whatever that used to happen, at night she would slowly switch herself from tough to soft gentle woman. She never raised her voice at him. Never made him feel like she invalidates his emotions. On the second day of their marriage, he told her that he will never accept her. She never said anything.

Just kept looking at him with some emotions he couldn't pinpoint. It was dark, filled with secrets. He though she would throw another fit, but she nodded and left the room. It confused him, if she didn't minded this pathetic thing that he said that night then why did she marry him?

That was the first time his mind could comprehend how complex her mind actually works. She's a very complicated woman with a bad past. That's what he found out after staying with her for 5 years. Quick, clever and extremely smart. Her eyes are like hunters. They hunt those down who she doesn't like.

He slowly started avoiding her, never used to talk to her, didn't used to look after her even if she was sick. He remembers one time she was so sick that she couldn't get out of the bed. At that time everyone in the house was away on a vacation. But they were home, but to make her feel pain he did the worst thing a husband can do. He booked a ticket and flew away to be with his family. Leaving his sick wife back home. His heart still clenches remembering her expressions from that day.

She was sitting on the bed, eyes heavy with eye bags as she played with her ring. A distant look in her face as he saw. He was in the walk in closet packing. He wants to hurt her the same way she did. She looked up at him as he averted his gaze but he could feel her heavy stare. It made him feel somehow troubled.
