𝓟𝓮𝓽𝓮𝓻 stood anxiously in the kitchen, constantly checking his phone as he waited for Marcus to arrive.
Olivia is going to kill him the second she sees Marcus but they needed to see each other. Plus, Marcus was still his friend as much as he was still her husband.
"Why do you look like that?" Olivia's voice spooked him as she walked into the kitchen, pouring herself a cup of coffee with a cigarette hanging off her lip.
"Like what?" He said, taking the cigarette out of her mouth and putting it out on the ashtray behind her making her roll her eyes. "Like a teenage girl waiting for her crush? Your little boyfriend hasn't arrived yet?" She asked jokingly as she took a sip of her bitter coffee, giving her that kick she needed to keep up with work.
"Ha-ha, very funny Liv. He's almost here. I'm just anxious to see your reaction once you see him." He admitted, watching as she raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Why would I have a reaction? Is it that guy that tried getting me to go out with him by begging in the hallway in high school? Cause if it is I'm going to bring you to my next killing." She threatened jokingly but deep down Peter knew once she saw who it was he'd be the one getting killed.
"Don't worry, he died in that car accident a few years ago, remember?" She hummed, "That's right. His parents still blame me for it." She said taking another cigarette and lighting it.
"I don't get why, he was drunk driving." She shrugged before walking out. Suddenly turning around, startling Peter. "What, psycho?" He responded earning a pointed look from his older sister.
"I have some business to take care of in the weapons unit about a new shipment. Think you can head to the training grounds and check on the new recruits? Get them ready for my visit next week and whatnot?" Peter nodded.
"Yeah, I'll do that once Ma- my friend gets here." She nodded, leaving the kitchen. As soon as he heard her office door shut he let out a breath, cursing himself for almost letting it out.
The last two weeks had been hard on Olivia, anyone that was close to them could tell. She was too good at acting like she was okay for anyone work related to tell.
Peter and Theo had tried to take some of the work load so she could go and visit her sons or even just facetime them but she was too dead set on doing what a boss should do which, in Peter's head, was complete bullshit.
He was not only her brother but all her right-hand man. It's literally his job to help her but she's always been too stubborn to let anyone help her. Being the oldest of the two and growing up under the "guidance" of their father fucked her up royally.
He hoped maybe having her reconnect with her husband, and bringing her family together would help her ease up.
She hadn't even slept properly in those two weeks. Going from the office to warehouses; she was killing someone new almost every day. As much as she loved it, he could tell it was taking a toll on her.
Even Arthur had tried to talk her into resting for a day.
Peter sighed as he put his empty coffee cup into the sink, heading into his office to steal work out of Olivia's email and split it between himself and Theo.

Olivia rubbed her scalp as she drove home from one of their main warehouses, the ponytail she had on all day had made her scalp sore.
