𝓟𝓮𝓽𝓮𝓻 left right after the boys woke up and started making noise upstairs.

"How long until father wants me home?" Olivia asked as she walked her brother out. "In two days." She choked on air as soon as those words reached her ears. "Two days?! That's way too soon!" He shrugged.

"You know how much he loves the sense of urgency." She ran a hand through her hair in stress as she thought of everything she needed to do. Peter looked down at his watch, "I gotta head out Liv, I'll see you there in two days." She just nodded with a small smile as she watched him walk towards his car and drive off.

As soon as the lock clicked, she heard footsteps coming towards her, making her turn around.

"Who that?" Apollo asked, his hair disheveled from his nap as Ares struggled to keep his eyes open.

"No one." She said with a small smile as she walked them to the living to distract them with the TV as she packed their suitcases to live with Noah and Tony for a while.

Once she realized the boys were settled on the couch, she walked to the kitchen to get them lunch, as she waited for the water to boil for the pasta she called Tony knowing Noah was still at work and wouldn't answer the phone.

"Hello?" He answered. She let out a shaky sigh. "Hey, it's time." The line went quiet as if Tony stopped breathing. "How do you know?" He finally said.

"My brother came to tell me. I gotta be there in two days which means I have to catch a plane tomorrow for France." He sighed. "Okay, I'll give Noah a call to let him know. You pack up the boy's things and after work, we'll go and help move their things into our house." Olivia couldn't help but wipe her tears.

"Thank you, Tony. I really wish I didn't have to put this on you guys." She could just imagine him shaking his head at her. "It's okay. Just get as much ready as possible, we'll be there in like an hour." She thank you a million times over before hanging up and making their lunch.

Apollo and Ares ran around their room, helping Tony pack their things as Noah helped Olivia pack her things for her trip in the morning.

"When mommy come back?" Ares asked as he passed Tony his dinosaur toy. Tony smiled lightly, "I don't know but very soon. She won't be gone for too long." Ares just nodded. Out of both twins, Ares was always more attached to their mother.

"Why leave?" Apollo asks, not wanting to think about his mother leaving. "She has super important work to do." Was all Tony could respond as he folded the last shirt into the suitcase.

Tony carried the suitcases to the living room as the boys followed right behind him.

"Why can't you just tell the old man no?" Noah whisper-yelled as Olivia walked around her room.

She stuffed the boy's birth certificates into a giant folder that held all their important documents. She couldn't risk the boys not having them in case something happened to her.

"That's not how this works. I made a promise and I intend to keep it." She said still not looking at him.

Something about Noah always felt so familiar to her in the worst way possible. Especially when she saw him with her sons.

"You can't just leave your four-year-old sons alone on the other side of the globe." She finally turned to face him. "I'm not leaving them alone. I'm leaving them here with you and Tony. People I trust because I can't risk them being anywhere near the work my family does so please, stop with all this nonsense and just help me pack. I don't want to spend another second away from my boys before I leave." He stayed quiet, knowing that he was being selfish for wanting her to stay.

She closed the folder after checking that everything was in there, along with a letter dedicated to each of her sons, in case something terrible were to happen to her and she'd never get to say goodbye.

She passed the folder to Noah. "Keep this safe. Don't let anyone get their hands on it so stuff it in the back of your closet or wherever but keep it safe." He saw the urgency and fear in her eyes as he just nodded, taking the case tightly in his arms.

The spent the next ten minutes in silence as they packed away most of her closet, seeing as they didn't know how long she'd stay in France.

She was hoping that she's only stay there less than a week at a time and come back to be with her kids but she knew better than to hope for something so unreal.

She was to take them throne which meant going through every transaction ever made and every debt that needed to be collected.

She knew her first two months was going to be spent in the office, going through paperwork and getting her head wrapped around everything.

She was already exhausted and hadn't even started working yet.

After a while more, they had moved everything into her friends home, using their guest room as the boy's room now. Olivia made her own makeshift bed in the floor so she could be with them till morning.

"You come back, right?" Apollo asked, Ares anxious for her answer. She smiled as she ruffled their hair. "Of course I'll be back. How could I possibly leave my precious boys?" They smiled as they got out of bed and buried themselves in their mothers arms.

She tried her best not to cry, knowing that once she started crying they would too and she didn't want them to remember her this way.

The little family fell asleep with dry tears on the floor the night before the mother embarked on a journey she's dreaded her entire life.
