The next morning, Yeji woke up with a strange weight on her chest, it was clear that everything that had happened the night before had left her speechless. Should she now, go home again?
She thought it would be for the best, because something strange and completely new to her was forming in her heart and not something she wanted for her life, let alone with a girl she only knows the name of and who is one of her best friend's lovers. Karina had not returned a single one of her calls and that was already something worrying for her, but she tried not to think of anything bad, while she took a shower.
To her surprise, as she left the room she noticed that Ryujin was still there, the dark-haired girl looked up at her when she saw her leave the room and waved for her to sit down and eat with her.
Ryujin had prepared some pancakes with chocolate and Yeji thought about it for a moment before leaving, though it would be for the best at that moment.
"I... I'm going to college-"
"Will you leave the food served there?" Yeji swallowed dryly at the girl's seriousness and after a sigh she had no choice but to sit down in front of her to eat.
"Yeji... I want to apologize to you for what happened yesterday.... I-"
"Ryujin... I don't want to talk about it, okay?" The girl kept silent and nodded.
"It's okay... What are you studying Yeji?"
"Science in arts..." Ryujin was a little surprised and nodded with a smile. "What about you? What do you do when you leave here?"
Ryujin tensed a little at the question, but then gave her a smile seeing how the girl was interested to know what she did.
"I work in a bookstore and in the afternoons I go to visit my mother, in the hospital" Yeji swallowed the piece of pancake in her mouth and looked at her, remembering how she herself had spent part of her days in the hospital when her mother was about to die.
"I'm so sorry... I-"
"Don't worry... She's still alive..." Yeji nodded and lowered her gaze back to the plate. "Do you live alone, Yeji?" She asked curiously.
It was obvious that the girl must live alone to be here in this apartment or it could also be that she had run away from her parents' house, but after what had happened in the night, Ryujin felt the need to get closer to her.
"Yes... I used to live alone with my mom in a neighborhood to the south, but.... My mom passed away six months ago."
Ryujin changed the countenance on her face and then leaned forward to take Yeji's hand resting on the table. Immediately the chocolate-haired girl looked up at her.
"I'm really sorry, Yeji.... I really didn't mean to pry into your private life and-"
"Don't worry about it, anyway, it's a good time for us to get to know each other better.... Since, we'll be living together here until Karina comes..."
"About that..." Ryujin leaned back in her chair again. "I got a place to stay, it's something temporary but, I think you'll be more comfortable here if you're alone" Yeji swallowed hard because really even if she didn't want to accept it, she didn't want the girl to leave, but maybe it was for the best, this way she would put distance to whatever was going on with her and it wouldn't be something awkward, then she nodded slowly.
"Well, I hope Karina comes as soon as possible" Yeji said smiling. But it was somewhat feigned.
"Me, I hope I won't see her anymore by the time she arrives..." They both exchanged glances for a few more seconds and then Yeji realized that she had been home for much longer and that she was getting late to get to the university.
