"You were once friends with them? That explains everything!" I exclaimed when Victoria explained why moyo and her clique might be disturbing our peace.

"We were very close friends. I and moyo were the leaders of the group, and we were best friends. But one day, she just changed all of a sudden and stopped giving me attention. I wouldn't call myself a selfish or jealous or clingy person of some sort, but I could figure out that she lost interest. You get what I'm saying?" She said.

"Yeah, I understand." I replied.

She continued.
"The rest of the clique were not helping matters either. They were so non chalant about everything. "

I still couldn't believe that she was once part of that petty group. That meant she was once like them. I've always found it hard to believe that people do change, but thus, it was starting to prove me wrong.

"But do you have any clue on the reason she lost interest?" I asked.

She bit her lips.
"Hmmm...it is most likely because she was seeing a boy. That's one major factor that breaks friendship between girls. She wasn't so secretive with us then. We pretty much knew everything about each other. But suddenly, she started acting weird, and I knew she was hiding something from me. Frequently, i would catch her sneaking out of the hostel at siesta time and being completely absent during the prep breaks when we were supposed to be together. But I just couldn't find out who the guy was. I confronted her one day, but she firmly denied it. Deep down, I knew she was lying. It seemed like she had a good reason for covering up whatever she was hiding. "

"So what did you do?". I asked.

"Well, I just had to tell her that I couldn't keep up with her and the group again if she didn't try and make things right and the funny girl told me to go if I wanted to. She was so blindsided. "

Well, that wasn't new to me. At my previous school, I got separated from my best friend because of a boy. Apparently, she thought I liked the boy she liked. We fought a lot because of that, and I tried my best to prove that I had no interest in him. This fight later led me to some messy encounters that would eventually haunt me for a long time.

"She probably got dumped by the boy because she came back to apologise to me later on. I forgave her, though. But I told her I couldn't continue to be friends with her and the group. I was even happy I left. They were very petty set of people, and all they did was intimidate others and bully new students. I couldn't continue to stay with them."

"That was actually very brave of you," I said

"Yeah, I know. It wasn't that easy, though. They disturbed me for a long time. Even till now. They are probably after you too because you are the first friend I've made since I left them. Im just really sorry you have to go through all this because of me. " She said.

She sounded really sorry. I looked at her.

"I really dont think it's because of you,"
"You may be a reason, but there's definitely something else."

"Well, whatever it is, just don't let her get to you. She's honestly all bark but no bite." Victoria reassured me.

I sighed.
"I hope so."

****************************

Ahhhh... Monday morning.
What a traumatising day for everyone but yet a refreshing one for me. Today, I got to take my desk into the science department. I was finally going into my rightful department after three excruciating days in another department that wasn't meant for me. Honestly, I couldn't understand anything that was thought in those three days. I'm glad I didn't have to go through that for a whole three years. I would have failed a lot.
I went into the science department to check for an empty space to put my desk. I finally found one in the second row.
"You can't put your desk here," someone said behind me.
I looked back. Of course, it was moyo.
"Why again?"
"Because i-"
"Hey, doyin, you are finally here!" Michael came from nowhere and cut moyo off.
"Yes, indeed I am," I eyed moyo and went over to where Michael was.
"Hey, moin moin, take a chill pill." He said to her.
"You better leave me alone, Michael." She said, folding her arms and walking to her seat, which was a seat away from me. She didn't want me sitting near her. Classic.
