After Transfiguration we had a break and then one more class, Herbology with Hufflepuffs. I spent my break with Neville too. I was curious to know about why he lived with his Grandmother, but it seemed to be a touchy subject so I just left it and talked about plants. That made him happy.
I always was a very nature and animal loving person, but because of my parents, they wanted me to be like the rest of the family, do strong magic. About that, I had to find a way where I could train my magic. And also maybe a teacher, because if something bad happened they could control it.
I thought George could help me, but then he's no way as good as I am. And this is about learning and getting stronger, not fooling around. I had to get that thought out of my mind. I had to stay on my priorities and not have too many distractions. Although I am very interested in George.
Class went by fast, and we all headed to the great hall to go eat. There was also an announcement to be made.
As we waited to eat, Dumbledore started to talk.
Dumbledore: "Students, you will all receive a new class schedule as there was a mistake made, apologies to you."
Hermione: "it's true, I've heard the second year class and History of Magic at the same time as the 6th year! And they had to change all the classes to make it work"
We received our new classes once we were in our house common room. I went upstairs to analyze it. It's the same classes as before, just in different days and order. Monday was fully packed with History of Magic, Potions and Defence against the Dark Arts! The end of the week was better though; Thursday I only had divination and charms while Friday I only had one lesson of Defense against the Dark Arts.
I went back downstairs to share my schedule even though all the 5th years had the same schedule apart from the electives.
Fred grabbed my paper.
Fred: "Oh look, you also have free periods at the end of the week, just like me and George. I'm gonna need to make new friends to hang out with"
O: "And why is that?"
Fred: "Because George will be following you around 24/7!"
I laughed and looked over at George who turned red like a tomato.
George: "Oh bloody hell that's not true Fred", and he friendly smacked Fred at the back of his head.
O: "Do you guys know where to go to send letters?"
Fred: "yeah it's the Owlery, but don't worry, I'm sure George will get you there. Right George?"
George: "Oh shut it will you!"
He then looked down at me with his honey brown eyes.
George: "but if you want I can bring you there"
O: "sure, yeah, that would be nice"
Fred: "told you so"
George then pushed me out of the common room giving Fred the darkest glare as he was mocking him. It was our first contact, him gently pushing me with his hand on my back. I could tell it wasn't a friendly push like Harry would do to Hermione, it was more of a protecting push. It felt good and reassuring. For some reason I could feel that George wanted to protect me and take care of me. He was just giving off this vibe, and I liked it a lot.
The air outside was still warm with a gentle breeze. It was the evening, but the sky was a light dark color. It was like one of those last summer evenings.
We arrived at the Owlery. It was a circular room made out of stone, and the air would pass through. There were many owls nesting, looking at us with their big eyes.
George: "So who are you writing to?"
O: "my mom"
George: "didn't you see her two days ago, before Hogwarts?"
O: "no, she's very sick and had to stay in the US"
George: "I'm really sorry O"
O: "yeah it's quite tragic, we don't know what happened but it happened fast. It's like something was eating her up. We don't know how long she will last"
I wrapped my letter around an owl's claw and let it fly out. I looked at it in the distance until I couldn't see it anymore.
George didn't know what to say but that's alright. I had opened up to him and it's always hard to deal with someone else's touchy subject.
O: "let's head back"
I smiled at him, trying to reassure him that I was ok. He looked at me with concerned sad eyes. His hair was flowing with the breeze. He gave me a faint smile back, but I could tell he was disturbed.
We started walking back.
O: "I'm sorry I didn't want to make you feel sad"
George: "no don't be sorry, I just can't imagine, I mean what you're going through is hard"
O: "I've got friends here, it's alright"
George: "but do they know?"
O: "people don't necessarily need to know what's going on to make you feel better you know. And plus I've got you to talk to if I want to, right?"
George: "yeah, I told you if you need me I will help you"
I smiled and held onto his arm as the breeze was getting colder. He was about two heads taller than me, I felt really tiny. But I liked it because he made me feel sheltered.
We headed upstairs to the common room. Everyone was already in their dorm.
O: "goodnight, see you tomorrow"
George: "night O" And he looked at me until I closed the door of my dorm.
