About an hour later, Julie went into the studio to rehearse. She found the boys inside, each doing something different. Luke was sitting on his couch with his journal in hand, probably writing a new song. Alex sat behind his drums, practicing an unfamiliar melody. Reggie was walking around, his guitar in hand, obviously practicing moves to implement when onstage.
"So, are we going to practice?" she asked, looking around.
"Sure, we thought about a new song. We're not quite sure about the lyrics yet, but we've come up with a great melody." Luke answered.
"Can you show me?" Julie asked with interest.
The boys started playing and Julies eyes lit up. Her mind started to race. She took the journal that Luke had left on his couch and started to jot down possible lyrics. When they finished, Luke took his journal, quickly scanned the page before turning to Julie.
"It's just a couple thoughts that came into my head while you were playing." She said, just a tiny bit nervous about what he would think.
"Well, they're great." He said and she smiled.
The rest of the afternoon was spent finishing the song. They played it one more time, this time with Julie and after agreeing that it was good enough, they all sat down to talk about their next performance.
"Does Flynn know anything?" Alex asked, pointing to the fact that Julie's friend was basically the manager of their band.
"She said everyone was asking when we would play again. Also, she mentioned something about an invitation to a big concert in two weeks."
Before the boys could ask questions, Julie heard her dad calling her from the house.
"I better go, see you tomorrow. I'll ask Flynn about that concert." she said as she left the studio.
