Did you miss me?

It was Wednesday. Julie was looking forward to the performance, which was on Friday. Nothing interesting had happened in school, that was until Nick came up to her during their lunch break. Edith was a little scared of things becoming awkward after having to reject him twice.

"Hello Julie. I wanted to ask you if I could possibly come look at how you practice. I've been thinking of joining a band myself and thought a little insight into the workings of one as successful as yours would be useful. Would that be possible?"

"Yeah, sure. We have band practice today after school, do you have time then?" She thought the request was weird, but she was glad he seemed to think of her as a friend.

"Ok, I'll find you after school and we can go together." He said and left.

"Please tell me he didn't ask you out again." Julie heard Flynn's familiar voice behind her.

"Thankfully no, he wanted to ask if he could come watch our band practice later today. He's thinking of joining a band and probably wants to see what it looks like."

"Weird. I never thought of him being the type of person that joins a band." Flynn thought out loud.

"Me neither." Julie said, deep in thought.

"Well, we better get to class if we don't want to be lat. And you should probably be on your best behavior if you don't want your dad to ground you on Friday."

"True. Let's go."

After their last period, Julie went to get her things out of her locker. There, she saw Nick, standing and waiting for her.

"Hi Nick, give me a minute, I'll just get my stuff and we can go."

After a couple minutes, they were at Julie's. They went into the garage, Julie noticing the boys were there.

"What the hell is this dude doing here?" Luke asked, clearly angry.

"Hey, I'm just going to call the boys and tell them I'm ready. You can sit down if you like." Julie said, looking at Nick and taking out her phone.

"Hi guys, are you ready for practice? Nick wanted to come watch, he's thinking of joining a band.

"Does he have to be here?" Luke whined.

"Dude chill. It's just one practice. Right?" Alex assured him before looking at Julie, seeking confirmation.

"Yeah. So, you ready?"

All three boys nodded in agreement. Suddenly, Nick got up.

"Not so fast." But instead of his normal cheery tone, a completely different voice came out of his mouth.

"Caleb?!" All three boys exclaimed at once.

They all stood, shocked as purple smoke came out of Nick's mouth and morphed into Caleb. "Did you miss me?"

"Go to hell Caleb. We're not joining you're band." Luke said confidently, the boys backing him up.

"Such hostility. I know there's been some resistance on your part when it comes to joining my house band. That's where your friend here comes in. You join or she suffers a very unpleasant demise."

The boys looked at each other, silently communicating what they were going to do. "Fine Caleb, you win. We'll go. Just leave her alone."

"No, guys please! Don't! I can't lose you." Tears were already forming in her eyes.

"Jules, promise me that you won't give up on music again." Luke said, his eyes also starting to tear up.

"Luke, I'm begging you." Julie said, her whole face now wet.

"I l-" he was cut off by him, the boys, Nick and Caleb poofing out.
