Chapter 14: Dimitri

Suggesting that Mason was an ally to Rebekah and kidnapped Aiden was not a good assumption. I shouldn't have voiced it out loud to Malia. Still, though, I can't shake the feeling that Mason isn't all there in the head. So, I formulated a plan.

I just had to wait until after dark. The time where the wolves are asleep and the vampires roam.

--

Night time rolls around quicker than I expected. Malia and Ryder were together most of the day, Anita and Kaiden were running around while they took a tour of the land and I had no idea where Mason ran off to. Suspicion #1.

I was ducked in a bush until I saw all of Mason's lights turn off. When I was sure all was silent, I ran to the door, and was there in two seconds. I had my hand on the door knob and slowly turned it, as quiet as I possibly could.

When inside, I could already feel like something was up. Something had gone down in this home, and it doesn't seem like a relationship crisis. The aura of the room was mysterious and suspicious. I looked around the room I was currently in, which looked like the living room. I grazed my eyes over the surfaces until I found what I was looking for. As quick as light, I stood next to a table that was graced with the precense of sticky notes.

I picked up the first one I laid my eyes on.

You know what to do. - R

The second one.

Bring him to me tonight. - R

The third.

You did so well, my puppet. Come later tonight, for you reward. - R

R... My aunt. That fucking...!

I look around the house. It seems that Mason isn't here. So, maybe...?

He has to be at my aunt's. If I can find him and Aiden, Malia would believe me. & she's understand when I rip "Mason's" throat out. Oh, they've done it now.

With a huff and my anger fueling me, I race out of the home and make my way to my beloved aunt's house. I just got to hope that Malia doesn't try to contact me.

--

I walk up to the wooden double doors of the mansion Aunt Rebekah resides in. I don't bother knocking, as I push the doors open in blind rage. When I walk in, I see Rebekah standing in the hallway, talking to someone.

Mason.

Her emerald eyes shine towards me and her smile turns into a grim, stoic look. "Dimitri," she says, not the least bit surprised. I look at my aunt, hoping my piercing gaze cuts her like a knife, just as her betrayal cut me like a knife.

"Aren't you the one who's all 'family is everything'? Wow," a low chuckle. "What the fuck am I to you then, Aunt Rebekah?" I start walking towards her, "because you sure as hell aren't treating me like family."

"You are my nephew, of course you're my family," she says, flabbergasted. As I pass by a side table that has a millon things on it, I angrily slide everything off it with such a force, it's enough to make Rebekah and Mason jump.

I growl, my eyes turning a bright yellow, showing the werewolf side of me. My teeth are changing, as I feel them moving around and my hands, my fingers are pointed up as if waiting for claws to come out (although, they won't). "THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT FAMILY!"

"I am doing this to protect you!" She countered and I snorted a humorless chuckle.

"Protect me?" I ask. "Trying to make me kill Malia's brother again is to protect me? Do you realize how warped your definition of protection is? Do you realize what happened last time when I killed Mason?!" I was fuming and if we were in a cartoon, we could see steam coming out of my ears and my face turning an apple red.

"She fucking rejected you!" Rebekah says and I stop. "I'm doing this to torture her like she is torturing you! Tell me, Nephew, how badly does it hurt? How bad does it hurt to be near your mate and feel that severed connection between you two? I bet it hurts like a little--"

"DAMMIT, Rebekah, shut the fuck up! You're so fucking childish! These games you're playing? They're done. Or next time I see you, I don't give a shit if you're family," I step up to her until we're nose to nose. "I will rip you apart, starting off with your legs, then your arms, I'll rip off your ears and nose, and finally, your head. I'll drag it out, slowly watching you be in pain for days before I twist your neck and rip it off. You got me?" I made my voice deep and shallow, making sure I got my point across. My jaw was clenched and I was staring intensely at her, with such a fiery hatred.

She purses her lips and nods. "Now," I say, satisfied. "Where the fuck is Aiden?" Rebekah looks down and then points down the hall, that leads to the basement. I turn towards Mason and point a finger at him, but I know he won't register a word I'm saying-He's a drone. "I'll deal with you later."

After that, I walk towards the basement, to get Malia's son back.

We're on our way.
