Leo's POV
Song: Let Her Go By PassengerI just walked through the halls, looking for a place to calmly listen to my music. I came across Mr. Draco's room, which works. I shrugged and opened the door. "I-" Aries stopped when I opened the door. He has Aquarius' hand and both of them stared at me and I stared right back. Both of them were completely red. I felt my eye twitch. "Are you serious-" I muttered under my breath. "Quit being a wimp dude. Ugh, stupid love junk" I said that as I walked away from Mrs. Delphinus' room. Yuck, I didn't want any more of this stupid lovey dovey stuff. I don't need a girlfriend. Anyways, then I came across Sagittarius. "Hey man!" I waved to him as he turned to me. "Yo!" He grinned. "Hey! Wanna go chill?" I asked him as I got to him. "Sure. C'mon!" Sag grinned as he walked off, signaling for me to follow. I smirked and followed.
"But that doesn't make any sense!" Sagittarius yelled at me. "You don't make sense!" I rolled my eyes. "And look who's talkin'!" Sag laughed. I let out a long, exasperated sigh. "What's going on?" Scorpio walked into our argument. Sag and I gave each other a glance and we grinned. "Your mom!" We both blurted out at the same time. Scorpio blinked at us. "My mother is dead-" he murmured. "I thought you knew this Sagittarius!" He added, glaring at Sagittarius. "Oh yeah," Sagittarius looked up to the ceiling then looked back at Scorpio. "Sorry man." Sagittarius scratched the back of his neck. Scorpio sighed. "It's fine." He murmured, walking away. "Did he just say his mom was dead?" I whispered to Sag. "Yes I did Leo! And if you got a problem with that, take it to my father." I heard Scorpio's voice as he turned around, raising his eyebrow. "Yeah yeah." I rolled my eyes at Scorpio as he left. Just then I remembered my dad. He had died a few years ago, but I still miss his to this day. "Hey," I heard Sagittarius' voice. I looked up at him. "You ok? You look down." Sag had a concerned look on his face. "Psh, you don't know what you're talking about! I'm fine." I rolled my eyes, smiling. "I just have to go and listen to music. Bye Sag!" I ran out of the room without hearing what Sagittarius would say.
As the day went on, I couldn't stop thinking about my dad. He had died protecting me from a bunch of snakes. I shivered at the thought of snakes. I hate snakes. But I hate the fact that my own father died at the fangs of those monsters more. I started to clench my fists thinking about those beasts. Just then, I heard a snap. I gasped slightly, realizing it was my lead pencil. I dropped it and saw it was broken into two halves. I looked at my hand and saw I was bleeding. Some of the plastic from my lead pencil were stuck in my hand. I winced at the pain a bit. "Leo," Mrs. Delphinus approached me. "Go to the Nurse's Office for that, you're bleeding." She pointed to the door. "I don't have to. It-it doesn't hurt." I stammered, looking at my bloody hand. "Go. Now. I'll escort you myself if I have too." Mrs. Delphinus' tone became stern. "But I don't-" "Now." She raised her eyebrow. I sighed. Getting up to go to the Nurse's Office. "Capricorn," Mrs. Delphinus' voice called. "I'm putting you in charge. Are you okay with that?" Capricorn looked a bit shocked, but nodded. "Yes ma'am." Honestly, I kinda forgot she was even in this class. Capricorn got up and walked to the front of the classroom. Mrs. Delphinus nodded. She led me outside and I heard her warn the other kids not to fool around. "Anyways, shall we go then?" She turned and looked to me. I nodded.
She escorted me to the Nurse's Office and stop in front of it. "Well, go on. Knock on the door." Ms. Delphinus signaled to the door. I nodded and knocked on the door. The nurse opened the door. "Oh, hello. Leo was it?" The nurse looked to me. I nodded. "He cut his hand. I'll leave you to take care of him Columba." Ms. Delphinus left and I looked and made eye contact with the nurse.
Columba looks like this:
She looked to my hand. She lifted it and examined it. "Oh, your poor dear. Come inside. I'll help you out." Nurse Columba, I think, led me inside her office. It looks neater than I thought it would. She asked me what had happened and I explained. "So, you got mad and accidentally snapped your lead pencil?" She checked to verify my story. I nodded. Though, I feel kinda bad for lying to her. "I can tell you're not telling me everything Leo." I jumped as she found out. "I could see it in your eyes." She grabbed some bandages and a pair of tweezers. I sighed. "Yeah, ya got me." Nurse Columba chuckled. "Thought so." She lifted my hand gently and removed the plastic from my hand. It stung a bit but I could handle it. Then she bandaged up my hand. "There, you should be okay now." Nurse Columba's voice was soft. It reminded me of my dad. I looked down, I missed him dearly. His voice echoed in my mind. "Are you ok Leo? You're crying." Nurse Columba put her hand on my shoulder. I was confused. I rubbed my eyes and realized she was right. "Are you alright?" Nurse Columba's voice and gaze softened. Her purple eyes were calming. "I was just..." I paused. "...thinking about my father..." I continued. "He's...not here anymore..." More tears welled up in my eyes. I was annoyed at that. I angrily wiped them away. Nurse Columba put her hand on my shoulder. "I'm so sorry, it must be very hard on you.." her voice was caring and soft. I sighed and calmed a bit. "Yeah, it is..." I admitted. "You know what?" I looked up at Nurse Columba. "Don't let it bother you. I'm sure your father is watching over you." Nurse Columba patted my head. I sighed and smiled. "Thank you."
