TREVOR

Watching Summer keep up with my fast talking sister and mother is pretty entertaining and she's doing a damn good job. She's laughing and even adding to the conversation any time she can. She fits right in with the whole family. She and Dean even spend a few minutes talking about some book I've never heard of.

"How did you two kids meet?" My father asks, looking at Summer and I. They've already learned she goes to UCLA, so now they're trying to figure out we met if we go to rival schools.

"Uhm," Summer starts, "One of my friends knows his roommate, Alex. And she dragged me to one of their games," she reaches for my hand under the table, and smiles over at me, "And he's been stuck with me ever since."

"Are you going to be at the game tonight?" My mothers asks, there's a hopeful look in her eyes.

Summer looks over at me for an answer.

"She has to work tonight, so she probably won't make it," I turn to look at my mother and sister's sad faces, both of whom have grown very fond of Summer today. But I get it, she's easy to fall for, she had me hooked after five minutes.

Summer sees their sad faces too, "But I'm going to try and get out early, hopefully I can make it by the second period."

"Oh please!" Hannah begs, "I can't sit through that game without someone to talk to!"

Summer laughs, "I won't leave you waiting too long."

SUMMER

As I'm hugging his family goodbye and realizing how much fun I had today. His parents are both so sweet and caring, his sister is hilarious and his brother is quiet but still a gentleman.

"Thank you for coming today," Trevor sighs once here back in the car. He almost sounds relived.

"I had fun," I smile over at him, "Also, did you really try to get people to call you T-Dog in high school?" I haven't stopped thinking about that story since his sister told it.

He groans, "Yeah, I did, I thought it would be a cool nickname."

I laugh harder than I should, "Whatever ya say, T-Dog."

"Don't you start," he shakes his head with a smile.

"If you're gonna keep calling me Sunshine then you're now T-Dog," I poke his shoulder.

"Sunshine, is cute though," he counters.

I blush, hoping he doesn't see but he does.

"See and you like it," he's looking over at me while we wait for the light to change. Our eyes meet and I feel like leaning over and kissing him, why? I don't know but after today my feelings are even more mixed up.

"Doesn't mean I like you, you're still annoying," I tease. He scoffs as the light changes.

"Are you sure you're okay with me going tonight?" I ask.

"Yeah," he shrugs, "I don't mind."

"I'm not wearing red and gold though, I wouldn't be caught dead in those colors."

"Oh c'mon! They're better then blue and yellow!"

"Our blue is cute! It's like a light blue," I defend my school.

"What if you wore one of my old jerseys?" His hand meets my thigh.

"Isn't that a bit much?" I smirk at him.

He shrugs, giving my thigh a squeeze, "I think it's kinda hot."

"Oh really?"

"Really." He nods. With one hand on the wheel and the other on my leg, I can't stop thinking about getting him out of that polo shirt and into the back of this car.
