Endeavor awaited eagerly outside his wife's hospital room, her crys of pain echoed out the room and through the halls. This was a day he had awaited for. Perhaps his luck would be great and he'd get the perfect offspring first try. The time seemed to seep past for hours. Doctors came out on the regular to give him updates, which he would often ward them off. He didn't care to hear anything until the child was actually born. At long last the words he wanted to hear came.
"The delivery went well. Would you like to come see him?" The doctor informed. Endeavor was already pleased at the news of it being a boy. He didn't say a word as he entered the room to see Rei gingerly holding the small infant. As he got closer he could make out the child's most prominent feature, his red hair. A thin layer of hair was already covering the infants head. Endeavor felt a small twinge of hope flare up in his chest as he gazed down at the small child before looking at Rei. Her eyes were half closed and it was abundantly clear that exhalation was taking over her.
Not a word was shared among the two before Endeavor exited the room. Rei allowed her gaze to return to her firstborn, realizing that his life was already being planned out for him. A pit of sadness sat in her chest as she imagined the hard times her son would have to endure. Dispite all these worries she still felt exhausted and allowed a few of the nurses to come and take the small child away before allowing herself to succumb to the dark of sleep.
It took Rei a week or so before the doctors finally cleared her to leave. Life at home seemed fine st first, or st least as fine as it always had been. Things were calm for the first two years of young Touya's life, but that's when sweet Fuyumi came into the picture. This time when Endeavor went to see his child he was greatly displeased to not only see that she was a girl, but also to see the bits of white hair that occupied the child's head. Dispite his father's displeasure, Touya was more then happy to welcome his baby sister into the family. Even though she wasn't even able to crawl yet Touya would still bring his toys to her crib and play near her to watch her.
A few weeks after her arrival the young boy ran to her crib, carrying some random stuffed animal before gazing in to see Fuyumi laying ther with wide grey eyes. He slipped the little stuffed animal between the thin bars as she grabbed for it. Soon it was in ger grasp and she hugged it like it was the best thing in the world. Touya felt arush of happiness fill him at his sister's soft smile. He continued to sit there, watching her every movement like it were her last.
At some point he heard his name echo through the house, a bellowing voice that immediately caught his attention. He quickly rose to his feet and ran to see what the voice needed. Touya found his father sitting in the training room, where the voice had emanated from. Soon Rei came and escorted the young boy out. Touya found himself constantly getting distracted by things that continued to keep his attention. A few hours passed before he heard the screams and crys of his little sister. He made his way to the door of her room to see Endeavor holding up the toy he had given her.
"Theres no need for useless things like these! If you have any chance of being anything then you need to learn how to rely on yourself alone, Fuyumi." Endeavor hatefully snapped at the child. Touya felt a pinch of fear and confusion start to fester in his chest. Why was he taking her toy? She didn't do anything wrong. Touya couldn't find any good reason for his sister to be punished for simply having the toy. Endeavor soon exited the room, setting the stuffed animal on fire.
Touya waited a few moments before running to his sisters side. He crawled in, almost falling at a point. Once he was by her side he scooped her up the best he could and gently rocked her. The only knowledge he had of caring for her was what he had seen from his mother. Soon he laid by her side, starting to softly speak to her. He couldn't quite remember what happened due to him passing out by her side. The next three years seemed to slug by until Touya finally hit the age of five.
Like any child he was ecstatic about getting his quirk, but not like Endeavor was. His father had long awaited the day his first borns quirk could come to light. Touya was dragged away as soon as his quirk came to light and Endeavor trained him and pushed him and pushed harder. Suddenly Touya's world fell apart and there was nothing that could fix it. Rei begged and cried for him to stop and even Fuyumi was begging for peace for her brother. The life they wanted was now cracked, a small crack, but a crack never the less.
