Touya and Hawks quickly made their way to their mothers side to look into the carseat. There laid a sleeping boy. His hair was a exact split down the middle, half red and half white. Touya felt a small pinch of joy that he looked like his little brother. The baby was small and seemed to be sleeping soundly. It didn't take long for the baby to stir, causing the four children to watch in anticipation. Soon the little boy opened his eyes to get a good look at everything around him.
His eyes were different. One was a turquoise blue, like Endeavour's, while the other was a slate gray like their mothers.
"He's different?" Natsuo was the first to ask. All the children were thinking the question, but Natsuo was the first to speak up on the observation. Rei softly laughed as she leaned down unwrapping the child from his seat. She stood up with him and he held his arms out. Gurgling noises left his throat as he giggled.
"Kids... meet Shoto." She introduced softly. The four reached up, wanting a better look at their new sibling. It even seemed like Shoto was interested in the others.
The small babys arms reached out towards the four kids on the ground. Small bubbles of sound left the child. Touya was the closest who also reached out. The two touched and Touya smiled wider then ever before. Rei softly smiled, sitting all the kids down so they could hold their new brother. She decided to go youngest to oldest. Natsuo held onto Shoto with a smile, nit saying much. It seemed like he was happy just with the presence of the little baby. Fuyumi patiently waited as the child was placed into her arms. She held him close as she whispered softly to him how much she adored him.
Shoto seemed to enjoy both of the siblings he had met so far, especially Fuyumi. He even whimpered slightly when Rei pulled them apart. Soon Shoto found himself in the lap of Hawks. The winged boy fluttered out his wings to catch the babys attention. This worked quite well as Shoto began to giggle out. Hawks continued to play with the baby until Touya made a soft coughing sound. It was clear he was tired of waiting to properly meet the new arrival. Hawks sadly handed the child over to Rei, shooting the fire child a soft glare.
Rei slowly placed Shoto into Touya's arms. Touya stared down at him for a moment before offering his hand to the baby. Shoto didn't hesitate to grab onto his hand, a soft giggle leaving him. Touya gently rocked the baby as he continued to play with his hand. If only time could stop. Touya was living in the moment, pure joy running through him. He never wanted to let go of his brother, a strange hold seemed to be placed on him by the infant. Sadly Rei took Shoto away.
"Shoto has had a very fulfilling day, so we should let him rest. You all will get to see him again later." She explained kindly before leaving out with the child. The four kids began to chatter quickly about their new brother.
"Isnt he adorable?!" Fuyumi asked excitedly.
"Yeah! Hes going to be the best." Hawks replied without hesitation. Touya opened his mouth to join in, but he felt a strong hand grip his shoulder. Looming over him was his father, a stern look plastered on his face.
"I think we need to get back to training." His father demanded.
The boy wanted to argue, but instead he sighed. It wasn't the right time to argue anyway. So instead he just slowly made his way to the training room instead. The other three stayed quiet as they watched him leave. Hawks looked to Fuyumi and Natsuo to see their disappointed looks.
"Does that happen a lot?" He asked curiously.
"Yeah.. we don't really get to spend time with Touya. Dad always has him training." Fuyumi replied with a sad nod. Hawks couldn't help but feel a put of pity rise in him. It wasn't fair that he couldn't stay for longer.
Hawks understood, however, that it wasn't his place to say what was right or wrong. Instead he skipped with the other two to go help Rei in any way they could. For the remainder of the day they ran around grabbing things for her and trying to help her with Shoto. There were multiple times that Touya sadly looked on from afar. He desperately wished to join them and help. At first he didnt want to upset his father when it came to training, but it seemed inevitable by the looks of it. It were either train all the time or disappoint the man. Touya didn't want to disappoint his father.
(AUTHOR NOTES: ok from here on out its going to be a pretty up and down rollercoaster. Endeavor hate here we come 😈)
