The alarm clock suddenly went off, causing both the boys to jump awake suddenly. Touya's mind still felt groggy and his eyes were heavy with sleep. He slowly sat up looking over to see that his feathered brother still hadn't even sat up. Touya rolled his eyes as he slipped out of his bed, making quick work to get dressed, make his bed and have his bag packed. He was a quick worker with almost everything he did.
Dispite the white haired boys passion to get things done, his passion had never seemed to work on his brother. By the time Touya had his bag packed Hawks was only just getting out of bed. He sluggishly crawled across the room, getting dressed with little effort. It was funny really. The two would immediately switch their energy levels as soon as they got to school. Until then Hawks would be sluggish and Touya would be primed as always.
Touya grabbed onto the boys arm, practically dragging him out of the bedroom, shutting the door behind them. Hawks pulled away, gingerly fixing the feathers on his ruffled wings. Touya didn't bother to say anything to the rest if his family, he simply quickly rushed out of the house, hoping Hawks would follow him.
"What's the rush dude! It's to early in the morning for this." Hawks complained, groaning as he slowly followed his brother.
"No rush, I just wanna get to school." Touya's eyes remained straight ahead as he maintained a straight path.
The two fell into a strange awkward silence as Hawks picked up speed to catch up with him. Hawks didn't say anything as they walked. There was a dark look in his brothers eyes that he didn't like. It didn't take long for them to get to the school, still somehow maintaining that same silence.
Once they walk in Hawks finally allows himself to speak. His words come out softer then he originally meant.
"Phoenix... if you uh.. need to talk to me, I'm all ears.." Hawks slowly spoke. His wings gently fluff up and down as he speaks, a reaction to his nerves.
"I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" Touya asked, looking over to the feathered boy. Something about the look in his eyes made the yellow eyed boy back down. His eyes didn't dare meet the cold blue eyes.
"I didn't say you weren't. I just wanted to make sure." Hawks quickly responds as someone begins to make their way towards them. Hawks turned his gaze over to see a red eyed girl bounding over. Her dark skin was smooth as could be. A pair of long white rabbit ears protrude from her head, twitching slightly as she walks.
She walks with a mission, as if she had an immediate thing she had to do. She made her way over, her red eyes staring into Hawks' soul. Her white eyebrows furrow together as she crosses her arms.
"What's up, Birdy?" She smirked, standing straight. Her ears twitching slightly as she spoke.
"Oh, nothing much.. what about you?" Hawks quickly responded. He smirked slightly, but Touya could see a faint spark of panic light behind his eyes.
"Nothing. You gonna text me at any point?" She responds gruffly, getting straight to the point. Her eyes slightly narrow as she speaks to him. That spark behind Hawks' eyes suddenly gets more prominent as the question enters his ears.
"I uh... sure yeah. I've just been... busy?" Hawks smiles again, feeling his pride dwindling. It's not like he didn't want to talk to her more, but he just... well he didn't really know.
"Whatever." She says, raising her eyebrow at him then sighs heavily. She then turns away and begins walking away. Her fluffy white tail swaying slightly as she walks. Hawks internally noted how muscular her legs and arms were. Hell she was extreamly fit for them only being 14.
Then again it made sense. The girl was in everything he could think of sports wise. Track, basketball, softball, wrestling and others that Hawks didn't care to remember.
