It didnt take long for Touya to realise he had gone to far. Hawks' wrists were still bright red even after a few minutes of them checking on him. It was clear the feathered boy was starting to lose his composer. Touya felt his chest clench as he began to wonder what to do. He didn't want to scare his siblings by making a big deal, but it seemed like Fuyumi was already putting together how bad the burns really were. Hawks continued to try to push off the pain, but he was feeling it growing.
"Hawks.. I'm really sorry but I think we should tell momma.. or maybe Dad..?" Fuyumi muttered at some point as she saw Hawks whimper.
"No! I don't need help." Hawks slightly snapped, causing Fuyumi to flinch back.
"Hawks this is going to end badly.. those burns seem bad, Please?" Touya butted into the conversation. The feathered boy glanced at Touya in worry.
"Wont you get in trouble?" Hawks asked softly.
"I don't care if I do! We need to get you some help. Let's go." Touya ordered, not allowing the word no to stop him. Before Hawks could protest Touya had already grabbed his arm, beginning to drag him across the house to find his parents, either of them. Hawks kicked and complained how he didnt need or want help. It only took a minute to find their mother, who was resting on the couch.
Touya continued to struggle to pull Hawks along with him. The feathered boy started to flap his wings in protest. Rei sat up as she saw her eldest sons enter the room.
"Touya? Hawks? Is everything alright?" She asked softly, her slightly long hair draped infront of her face. Her eyes scanned the boys and she made note of Hawks lack of interest in being there.
"We were training and it got out of hand.. I accidentally burned him.." Touya grunted and he pushed Hawks towards their mother. Rei wasted no time in checking on the boy, gently frosting his wrists, holding him still.
"I've told you to be careful Touya. Thankfully this isnt the worst it could be, but you really must be more mindful of your quirk, Touya." Rei explained, sounding firm and a little harsh. Touya looked down, his eyes glued to the floor in shame. He hadn't meant to hurt the feathered boy. Hawks puffed up his chest as he pulled away from Rei.
"I told him to not go easy on me! I wanted to train in the first place! It's not his fault!" Hawks immediately insisted, sounding angry and frizzled. Rei seemed suprised for a moment, her momentary frustration and worry washing away.
"Oh I'm sorry.. that did sound rude didn't it? I didn't mean to upset him, I simply need both of you to be careful, ok? This could've been so much worse. Touya has a very strong power and needs to be mindful if how he uses it." Rei softly explained, making sure to keep her voice level. She glanced st the doorway to see the other kids peering in.
It seemed like they were trying to stay hidden, but a soft giggle from Shoto definitely gave them away. Rei smiled as she checked Hawks wrists one more time.
"Ok, you're good to go.. just be careful, please?" She asked sweetly. Hawks nodded briefly before grabbing Touya hand and pulling him towards the others. The blue eyed boy felt relief wash over him as he realised Hawks would be ok, but still felt a small twinge of guilt for hurting him at all.
