Chapter 5: New Life New Pain

     Touya woke up as a figure shook him awake. His eyes opened to focus on a blong boy with bright yellow eyes. It took him a minute to recognize him. He fully woke up, making sure not to move in order not to wake up his siblings.  
     "Hawks? You're late!" Touya quietly whisper yelled. Hawks had a soft look of guilf on his face as he rubbed the back of his neck.
     "Is she ok?" He asked worry gripping his tone. Touya softened his tone as he sighed.
     "I guess moms ok.. dad won't tell us.." Touya muttered.
      "Oh, well I'm sure he has a good reason, but great news!" Hawks happily chirped. Touya looked st him expectantly. "It's official! All the papers have been excepted and passed! Were brothers!!" Hawks said, excitement fluffing up the red wings on his back.
     A wide smile crossed Touya's face as he looked at the boy. When Touya had first met Hawks he had felt bad about him not having a family. It took a lot of begging, but somehow he had convinced his parents to fully adopt Hawks. Now hearing that it was official made Touya's heart soar.
     Hawks loud announcement caused Fuyumi to ster awake as she looked up to see Hawks standing there. She smiled as she stood up and clung to the older boys leg. Hawks bent down with wide smile taking over his face.
     "Hey, Little Sister!" He said. Fuyumi's eyes widened at those words as a huge smile took over her face.
     "Its official?!" She asked. Hawks only nodded as Natsuo woke up.
     "Official? So he's our brother now?!" Fuyumi asked Touya. The blue eyed boy nodded and even Natsuo looked excited. They celebrated for a few minutes.
     Not only did they adopt a new brother but they were also gaining another younger sibling in the same day. It only took another bit of time before Endeavor exited the back. The four children began to pester him with thousands of questions that caused his head to spin. Is the baby a boy or girl? Is momma ok? What does the baby look like? He took a few minutes to compose himself before answering with a simple dismissive answers.
     "You'll see soon kids. Your mother just needs some time to rest." Endeavor explained. The kids quickly explained that Hawks was now officially part of their family.
     Endeavor even led the four to the observation window. It didn't take long for Touya to spot the new arrival. A little baby laid in the center of the lines of children. His hair was perfectly split down the middle, half a snow white and the other half a fiery red. Touya was almost amazed.
     "His hair is like mine!" Touya called out. Fuyumi and Hawks nodded in awe.
     "He's adorable! Oh what's his name?!" Fuyumi asked in joy.
     "Your mother and I have decided on the same Shoto." Endeavor answered. The kids looked amazed at the baby, as if they had never seen one.
     Even Hawks looked excited. "So... he's my brother too?" Hawks asked softly, looking at Touya. Touya smiled softly and put his arm around his new brother.
     "Obviously! Shoto is our brother." Touya answered, emphasizing the word 'our'. Hawks smiled back and Touya almost though he saw a tear well up in the corner of his eye. They continued to eye Shoto for quite awhile until they were ushered off by the staff. At that point Endeavor took them home, explaining that Rei and Shoto would be home the next day, since they wanted to make sure she was going to heal well.
     Endeavor ended up leaving an hour or two later for some type of petrol, leaving the four kids alone. Silence filled the room for a short time until Fuyumi stood up, a smile forming on her face.
     "Why don't we make a welcome home party for little Shoto!?" She cried out with joy.
     "That sounds great! What do you think, Touya?" Hawks responded, clearly happy to be apart of the choice.     
     "I like the idea." He responded kindly.
     "Yeah!" Natsuo agreed with a small laugh. At that point the choice was made.
     They quickly assigned everyone to a job and decided that they would do it the next day when their father left to get her. It would have to be quick, but they were confident. For the rest of the day the four just sat in the center if the living room sharing ideas and plans for the party. It was the beginning of what they hoped would be a life of joy with their newest baby brother.
