Touya and Hawks (age 11) spent quite a lot of time together after he was fully adopted. Rarely were the two apart from eachother, except for when the fire user had to train. The two always joked with eachother as competitors and rivals. Hawks often let out his confidence out in his smart comments. Nothing harmful, just little bickering here and there about silly things such as training. Touya without hesitation would pop back with something just as quick as Hawks would. Sometimes these little playful banters could get out of hand.
"Oh common now, you couldn't touch me if you tried!" Hawks popped off one day.
"Oh really? Last I checked feathers are flammable. HIGHLY flammable." Touya replied, not looking at his brother. Hawks rolled his eyes slightly at the comment.
"Well can't set me on fire again if you can't reach me." Hawks replied with a smile.
"I can make small blasts of fire. Almost like a stream, it could reach you easily, birdy." Touya laughed slightly.
"Not true! I could fly way higher and farther then your fire could reach!" Hawks popped off.
"Yes I could. Maybe you could fly away outside but inside you're nothing against me!" Touya said, fully turning his body to the red winged boy.
Hawks also turned to the other boy, both now facing eachother.
"Oh yeah? Then prove it, flamethrower!" Hawks replied back without hesitation. Touya smiled and stood up, crossing his arms.
"Fine. Inside though. The training room. " Touya agreed with a cocky smile. Hawks nodded, his wings slightly fluffed out. The now white haired boy laughed. All he could imagine was an angry bird trying to look bigger.
"Bet! When?" Hawks demanded.
"In an hour, I'll let you warm up some. Not like my quirk wont do the trick for that in the first place." The fire user laughed.
Since Shoto was born Endeavor had actually been slightly pushing Touya away. Training was still a thing, but it was few and far. His father's gaze always seemed to go back to his little brother, who was only 2 at the time. Sometimes Touya would grumble at the attention Endeavor was giving Shoto, who didn't even have his quirk yet. Though Touya did enjoy the breaks from training. It was nice being able to go a day or two without having to replace bandages. Touya's hair was almost completly white at this point, with nothing but small bits of red around his scalp.
Fuyumi would often comment on how it was so cool that the two of them somewhat looked alike.
"Touya!! It looks like mine!" She had happily stated at one point.
"You think so? Well then I look great huh?" Touya responded with a smile. Her smile only grew at his complement as she wrapped her arms around him tightly. Soft joyful giggles escaped her. Those were the times the boy loved most. Even Natsuo would compliment him when he could.
"You look better with white hair anyway." He smiled as he gave the statement.
"Oh really?" Touya asked with a smile. The nine year old smiled as he turned away.
"Yeah! Looks great with your blue eyes too!" He continued. Touya wrapped her arm around his shoulders and balled his hand up into a fist. Before Natsuo could escape the fire user began to rub his fist onto his head.
"Touya!! Stop-" the younger child called out as Touya laughed.
The hour passed swiftly and Touya entered the training room. It didnt take long for the bird boy to walk into the room.
"So, ready to get demolished?" Hawks smirked, spreading his wings out.
"Me? Oh please." Touya carelessly waved off the other boy.
"You'll be the one leaving with no pride." He snarked. Hawks huffed before lifting himself into the air.
"Alright! Ground rules." He demanded.
"Simple, whoever either gets knocked out, pinned for 5 seconds or forfeits loses. Anything goes!" Touya simply spoke.
A moments before Hawks could speak the door opened and in came Fuyumi and Natsuo. Both were helping a small Shoto into the room.
"Why are they here?" Hawks asked.
"They are judges. They'll say when something is off or when the round is won. Plus I want them to see me destroy you!" Touya explained with a wide smirk. Hawks fluffed out his wings again as the two prepared for their fight. Touya lit a small flame in his hand, letting it dance around in his palm.
"Be careful you two! Ready?" Fuyumi called out with a smile. The two prepared themselves before giving a curt nod. Fuyumi waited a moment longer before nodding as well.
"3... 2... 1!" She called out, before pulling Natsuo and Shoto back. Touya instantly lit up, his body becoming caressed in hot flames. Hawks took off upward, his wings keeping him well off the ground. Touya let out small bursts of flames hurdling towards the other boy, who fluidly dodged them.
Hawks took out one of his feathers, which had hardened much like a blade, and came down with a fury onto Touya. The mostly white haired boy couldnt seem to move fast enough as he felt the feather graze his skin. A small cut lined his arm from where he attempted to dodge. Touya retaliated by throwing his hand upward, creating a wall of fire in front of him. Hawks yelped out as he scampered away from the dancing flames that licked at his delicate feathers.
Touya smiled at the opening before propelling himself forward, tackling Hawks. His hands grabbed onto Hawks wrists, holding them down to the ground. Hawks began to struggle against the other boys grip. Touya slightly shook at the struggle of the other boy. After a few moments of struggling Touya slightly heated up his hands, applying a burning sensation to Hawks' wrists.
"Ow! Ok I get it!!" Hawks called out before Touya released his wrists. Hawks sat up, gently rubbing his red wrists muttering out in aggravation.
"Y-you ok Hawks?" Fuyumi asked softly. Touya's proud look fading st the worry in his sister's tone, his eyes quickly turning to look at Hawks. The feathered boy was still rubbing his burning wrists, softly hissing in pain. Touya slowly made his way closer, a look of worry plastered on face.
"Hawks...?" His voice carried softly.
